Well I just the assistant managment position at staples which pays 41k per year + full benifits and a monthly bonus based on how much the store makes each month per revenue to budget. I am 19 and I am going to school part time because I'm not sure what I want to be (dentist or doctor but not sure). I am just looking for opinions on if I should get an SRT-4 and give my cavy to my girlfriend or just keep the cavy and mod the hell out of it.
Thanks for any opinions on this matter,
-paul
if i were you, i'd get past that 90-day mark before making any major financial decisions.
for the time being, just save your money. that car's mighty expensive if you were to lose your job.

i went through this too, since i just landed a new account managment job at an electronics distributor (we sell to staples btw so i've probably worked with you at some point haha) but i decided to keep my cav for another few years yet. i was looking at an STI or an RSX but i decided to keep the cav for a few years and save some cash for a house. besides, i just got this one in june lol

SMART move.
cars will always be there...and by the time you're done with school, have bought a house, etc, you'll be able to afford a FAR nicer car than an SRT4. ideally, something with more class than a car that's marketed directly to the boyracer group.
if you get a medical degree, you'll be driving in something REALLY nice soon enough.

If you do go for one wait until you know you can afford it.. Go for the new SRT-4 with the ACR Stage 3 package.. Suppose to be 310HP on pump gas and 355HP on 100+ race gas.
Had to change sig because some dickhead is mad it went 1 letter over size

HAHAHHAHAHAHA. Can you get me a red swingline stapler please?
you won't regret getting settled in at your job and seeing how the money flow is and what you have left to work with.
The prices on the SRT4's are too bad. We got ours for a little over $18K, and we pay $343 a month for it.
At age 19 I'd hold off. I'm 19 with a clean driving record and still fork out 275$ a month for insurance on a Malibu LS. I think I got a quote on an SRT and it was near 400$ a month just to insure it. Granted most people could get it tons cheaper by being on their parents insurance I dont have that option. I'm with the other people, hold off for now and save for things like a house. Then when you're older or married go for a new car.
I'm agree with Slammed's opinion. I would hold off, specially due to insurance. I have an 05 Cavalier. Not even the LS and I'm on my own insurance and it costs me $207 and I have a perfect driving record. I'm only 20 too. When i was looking at cars to buy, I looked into a 99 Eclipse GS-T, and for full coverage insurance I was quoted at about $305. No matter who i went through it either went up or down slightly. So you really have to put the insurance aspect in effect. Are you really going to be able to afford other finances you have (food, cell, credit, etc), Plus the car payment, plus the ridiculous insurance, plus the gas it'll take? Its a big jump.
-_- I'm only using this s/n cause I ran out of posts for the month -_-
Where you live has a lot to do with insurance. Maybe something more professional looking, like an RSX or something along that lines, instead of that boy-racer look.
O noes!
I am 27 and I make pretty good money and I would say save up before making a purchase that big until you have established yourself since you are still in school and you are only 19...the same age as my brother and I am giving him the same advice. School costs alot and when you are younger you pretty much want anything and everything that catches your eye and you want to impress your friends. (I was once in those shoes so thats how I know.) Once you get older and realize how much everything costs, you will not give a rat's hoot to what anyone thinks. Also, you gotta think, is it worth paying $600-$700 a month just for the car payment and insurance to drive to work and back home and thats not even including any bills you may have and gas for the car? Plus, most sports car only take premium gas so you'll be paying on average between $250-$300 a month just on gas depending on how far your drive. I drive 38 miles round trip every day and it costs me about $230 a month for regular gas just to drive to work and back.
Once you get all done with school and start making the big bucks, you will not even look at a Neon or anything along that line. You'll be looking towards a C6 or a BMW or something. I would just keep the car you have now and save and take your girlfriend on vacation and enjoy life instead of worrying about making a large car payment every month.
