so yea just bought a 1991 tracer for $100 thought it was a good deal but I am having problems with getting it started. The engine is not getting fuel for some reason, the pump is good butt there is no power getting to it and when i run a hot wire to the pump it pumps fuel trough the entier system and i can hear it draining from the return line back to the tank but it still wont start because i dont think the injectors are opening.
Any help would be usefull i am out of ideas and cant find any bad wires
thanks in advance
i am not familiar with those cars, but it may need to see a cranking signal from a crankshaft position sensor to make the injectors work. just a thought but maybe u can check and see if that might be a problem? did u check the fuel pump fuse? the pump only works when u jump it with a hot wire? start at the fuse if the pump dosent work. but what i said about the crank sensor might be a possibility. good luck!
Did you look in the trunk or glovebox for a fuel pump shutoff switch? Ford is famous for putting those on there cars, only to piss people off. If the car was bumped hard it could have set it off (safety feature for accidents). See if you have one and if you do reset it. Try that first before you get into the wiring.

thanks for the help guys but i already checked the fuses they are good and there is a shutoff switch in the trunk and i already checked that to. The fuel pump still has no power to it and when i run a hot wire to it it works but dosent start because i don't think the injectors are opening if u just pour gas into the intake it will run but the tach and things like that don't even recognize that the car is running so i am still out of ideas. Please keep them coming
