Yellow jobbie with black leather interior...

All I can say is... DAMN! Quick lil beast! Time to swap me a 2.0SC motor into my Cavy... heh

Or just buy a Cobalt SS... gonna need a new daily driver soon...

Hmmm..... if only they made a convertible...

I don't like the gearing, and the sunroof switch thing broke on my friends, and could use a couple more ponies, but otherwise I was really impressed with it.

O noes!

I liked the gearing... for a stock car that is

I figure I'll order one for this time next year. Black on black, spoiler and radio delete. Probably wheel delete too. I'll end up replacing it all anyway.

So im assuming it wasnt the g85 package?

Also, how did you find the center console to be without an arm rest? Was it uncomfortable shifitng gears and such? I'd imagine it would be kinda akward not having an arm rest there. Thats one thing I love about the cavaliers is the arms rest:

Whats in the G85 package? This one was a "media package", had 4,000 kms on it already.

Sweet car, we have had a couple of them come into the dealership and tehy sell before tehy even hit the lot. I still have to see one withthe recaro seats thought. Just the two tone leather ones with SS emblem on teh seat. Pretty fast little buggers though. Woudl consider buying one but the tag is pretty hefty. I think I can wait.

SS/SC's are awesome! Mine has a sunroof, G85 package, and head curtian airbags. Alot better than the fire, i'm very happy with deciding to get it!!!

i test drove one about 2 weeks ago. black with the red/black interior. with three people in the car, 2nd gear still pulled harder then my cavalier with just me in it. the steering didn't feel quite as communicative as my cavaliers though... but my cavi's modded so it isn't really a fair comparison.

and to answer tommax... i didn't feel any different without an arm rest.

i just drove a ion redline. non lsd. i dont like the car! i dont like the on off throttle switch like action. i am not done! i dont like or third gear ecu tuning. when you shift into 3rd it felt like it had traction control in 3rd.

see ya!

I'm sorry but that post just makes no sense.

I'll wait to buy one(Cobalt SS supercharged) when they come with an automatic transmission...........just joking! :-)

Actually, my hope is they will up displacement to 2.4L AND supercharge it!

sorry! i was kind of let down but i will say the car felt tight. as far as suspension and steering feel. but i think they could have done much better. with the rear spring rates and/or a little bit bigger rear anti roll bar. Because when you go to pick up the throttle in a 2nd corner at the apex you get too much weight transfer to the rear picking up the unloading the inside front tire and without a lsd you get wheel spin.( real bad not just a little but enough to make me go not that is just stupid!) and i will not even get into the wheel hop! then i roll through the gears, 1st to 2nd was nice and crisp but when i shifted into 3rd the motor felt like the throttle closed for a split second. like a gto when to have the (traction control on) and you power shift it into 2nd. and the car i drove had a sun roof that gave a ton of wind noise
The things i did like, the brakes( nice firm with good initial bite) the exhaust note was nice too and the thing can turn around in a very small space the car is fast don't get me wrong. but not in the way it needs to be. it is a sport compact. Now if the car had a lsd i think i would be happy with it, as far as putting the power down. as far as handling goes it has good initial turn in but no communication through the wheel. but good for a American car. I think the comp pkg should have a harder edge. make the car a carving knife/pocket rocket.

I hope this was better. i am no English major just a factory worker and autocross nut

It's not bad for a stock car. I still hate the SS S/C spoiler, would be nice if it came with the regular SS spoiler.

I'd buy one... even moreso if it was available in convertible form

you can get them with the regular coupe spoiler. Ive seen a few of them driving around my area. Its a coupe, its says SS on the side, but its got the normal coupe wing on it, not that gnourmous monstrosoty.

I heard that the Cobalt might get an AWD platform in the future, like 07 ish. If it does ill pick one up for sure.

Otherwise everytime ive ever seen a Redline at the track, i wasnt impressed one bit. Low 15's is the fastest ive ever seen at the track.
