now that this has been done once, i'm sure it'll be done again:
Celica 2ZZ-GE swap into a Toyota Vitz(Japanese Echo hatchback)
i have no other details beyond that...but MAN would that be fast.

Meh.. It's still an Echo.. Nothing special.
Red 2005 Saturn Ion-3 Coupe
nothing special, but a hell of a sleeper. consider the power to weight ratio...stock, that motor's pushing 190HP (because it's a jap spec, rather than us spec motor). in a car that light, it could easily push low 13s or high 12s in the quarter.

That engine looks so tight in there. lol
Light weight, powerful engine, that how things should be.
I'd deffitnatly rock that.

How much does it weigh? I don't think it would be that quick in less it was like under 2000lbs.
2012 HD VRSCF
2010 Ford Explorer
2006 Ford Ranger
2004 Chevy Cavalier
it cant weigh less than an ariel atom
probably somewhere in the 13s or 14s
other cars, better cars?
Now this isnt the same car but I have a picture of a Vitz(Echo Hatchback) that is interesting...
Not sure if its photoshopped or not but its still kinda cool in a twisted and strange way:
Cool!! someone finally did it... I've been wanting to see someone do this ever since we started getting the echo hatches here in Canada.
It does look VERY snug in there..
BTW the Yaris (replacement for the Echo) looks like this car.
Lastly in comparison, this would be close to as quick as a Lotus Elise which weighs in at a scant 1900lbs under the same engine.

they probably had to shoehorn it in.
FI would be impossible on that car...aside from the fact that the motor does NOT take well to boost without considerable internal work, there's just no room.
now...to those of you who don't think it would be that fast...have any of you experienced Lift (via the VVTL-i system)? do any of you actually know what that car is capable of doing as it sits in those pictures? do some research...talk to some GT-S owners...you'd be surprised at the outcome.

its not that if it aint a v8 it iaint fast, im just not going to blow that much money on an economy car. id rather blow money on a GTO or Mustang, something thats a little better engineered and alot nicer.
im sure it handles ok and definatly accelarates nice, but i dont want to be in a short wheel bas car at 130mph+ not that would be an everyday occurance.
Lol, although somebody, i think it was on Ls1gto.com was complaining abouut his brake pads wearing out or something to that effect and it was because he was doing 140+ on the autobahn everyday.
lol a pontiac or ford engineered better than a toyota/honda. now thats funny. that little econobox will most likely not only retain its value better than a gto, or mustang, but outlive it as well.
though i'd rather have the gto cuz the echo is ugly lol.
That is a really tight fit, but I bet that thing hauls.
Have a good one,
Justin

Wow....can't believe i just read that. You think those econobox cars are worth anything after a few years? Yeah...maybe cuz they have a 1.3 Liter engine that puts out 60 hp or something stupid like that. GTO and Mustang along with the vette actually have enough power to break the damn car. I may stand alone....but there's no way i'd buy a 3-5 year old "econobox" i'd be much more willing to buy a 3-5 year old car that has been proven in the years.
the GTO is built well enough it will last alot longer than 75% of the econo cars out there.

l33t JDM camber with skinny tires streched out yo.
The Japanese dont like thier tires very much I guess. Or they just like to drive on the inside sidewall for some reason.

wow,
you need to get your head out of your ass
seriously
that is the most retarded thing ive read in a while
that little econobox old a better value than a stang or gto
yeah
and outlive it... right....
next thing you will tell us that it will break the sound barrier
hell i woulnt want to drive that car at all w/ the wheels like that
the inside corners will be bald in 3 months
and 190 hp in a 2000lb FWD car might run a mid 13 if you lucky
