ok, this is a completely retarded post, but would a b16 motor run on a d16's ecu?
the reason i ask is because my friend bought a 93 del sol, that had a b16 swapped into it, and the last time we went to the track, he ran a 17.1 and my buddies focus with a focus sport catback and WAI ran a 16.4...thier both decent drivers and mike said he had a good run. but the times don't add up. so if the b16 read the SOHC ecu, itd be closer to the 17.1. but i don't even see how it would run with a diff. ecu?
can someone shed some light on it for me? thanks and sorry for wasting bandwidth
i have no clue how ur buddy ran such a crappy time, even when i had my 17s and slipping clutch and with a crappy launch and humid weather i ran like a 16.4 at worst....but about the ecu thing id have to know exactly what ecu, either way for some reason i dont think its the ecu, usually with most swaps they use a P28 ecu which is an OBD1 ecu off the 92-95 civic ex/si but id have to know exactly whats done to ur buddys car to understand what the problem is.
prob be better for your friend to get a b16 ecu, what b16 was it. the SOHC ecu prob still thinks that it's only running the SOHC motor and on delsol's it was prob a d15 102hp one.
a delsol with a b16 with the proper ecu should run mid to high 15's depending on the driver and where they live.
p28 ecu should work but he prob doent have it.

ok, that was my theory about why he ran so badly. and you can't here a slighthtest sound or power diff when his vtec engages....
