well my little bro just bought a v6 cougar, 5 speed, 36k miles, black, grey leather interior for get this 7900 whats with these cars being so cheap other then its a product of ford lol

Well despite the immature reply's....maybe onesof envy infact. I can tell you they are amazingly nice cars IMO. one hell of a nice interior! and they perform nicely too. I would love to get one of these. And i'd buy one over a cavailer any day.

I always liked the looks of it....and it does drive well....
Well, if you can afford the extra 3-4 grand one costs over the cav, then more power to you...
There's nothing wrong with knowing the problems tho....
Good luck on your Cougar. Soon you will be wanting to get parts off of the SVT Contour for your Cougar. The MTX-75 transmission is actually very strong and it is typicaly the CD4E automatics that go bad. The CDW-27 platform is very good and has the potential to out-handle almost all FWD American cars except for the Focus and Neon.
