Ok, basically, I currently own a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire (duh lol) and when I'm done with the payments I wanted to purchase a Solstice. I've had my car since brand new and been financing it since July 2003 on a 4 year plan.
My question is, does GMAC or certain dealerships give you discounts or rebates because you previously owned a Pontiac and you are purchasing another Pontiac?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

some dealerships might, but since GMAC is sucha large financial institution that covers more than auto loans, i doubt they'll give you any discounts or rebates.
don't like me?
tell me what you think of me in chat
i got a thing in the mail a few months after i bought or rather my dad bought, but i pay for, my sunfire. they said if we purchased another car while still paying on ours we would get 0% financing w/ approved credit of course.
i think they will give you like a few hundred for loyalty discount.

If you plan on going to the same dealership that you bought your sunfire from, they will more than likely work with you more than most dealerships because you have bought form them before, therefor they want to keep your buissness and keep a happy customer. They might have an owner loyalty program like VW and MAzda and Ford do, so that might save you some money there., and they may offer special finacing depending on the term that you finacne the solstice, they less terms the better rate that you will get, but of course that is to qualified credit.
I am what I am and it is what it is.
I am the 2nd most untrusted person in the world next to a lawyer, welcome to our dealership, may I help you?
GMAC incentives and rates change periodically. They send a list of these incentives regularily to each dealer. Sometimes there is a loyalty discount. Sometimes omly on certain cars. These discounts tend to be on cars they need to get rid of. I have found this incentive list online before. I lost the link. argh.
Don't expect a discount on a Solstic any time soon. Whether it's the dealer sacrificing some of it's margin, or GMAC throwing you a bone. The car is just too hot.
Sometimes a dealer will artificially inflate the trade in value to motivate a sale. Pleasing a customer with a large trade number gives that warm and fuzzy feeling that motivates the new car sale. The inflated number is actually made pissible by not discountiung the new car as much. BUt with the Solstice a a choice, the trade will be moderate. The discount on the Solstice. Zero.
Thanks everyone for the info.
By the way, I wouldn't be trading in my sunfire, I'm keeping it

yeah it all depends on the salesperson. if they feel like giving you a deal because you went back to the same person then they can..
for instance my mom and dad had been buying cars at the same dealer from the same salesman for about 20 yrs and i went to go buy a car and got a killer deal i had a 2000 s10 stepside with the v6 brand new for 123.00 a month for 4 yrs.. and i was stupid enough to trade the truck in on a cavy then traded that in on the TA...sometimes i wish i woulda kept the truck.. but oh well....
the sky looks so much hotter tho!
