I was driving my friend to where she works this morning, and we stop at a light and we see this nice, brand new yellow corvette right beside us. Naturally, us being the stupid teenagers, and generally just felt like being idiots, she rolls down the window and yells over to the corvette "hey wanna race?". The guy in the corvette just laughed and said something I missed. So, I took it out of overdrive, put the ECT into PWR mode, and shifted into second, waiting for the light (my camry is an auto). He just sits there laughing.
Light turns green, I floor it, wheels spin a bit (hard to do in the camry, but I pulled it off right beside him lol) and he stomps on the gas and that was it... he was gooonnnnee.
I knew i'd lose but I figured it'd be funny. the guy in the vette had a good laugh too.
I would have loved to see a video of this. It's entertaining to see an econobox get smashed by a high performance vehicle. :-)

after that he would be speeding on most public roads
20+ years ago, some teenagers in a Citation X-11 got a 40ish guy in a vette to race them. The light was at a RR crossing. A very rough RR crossing. The teens just sat there listening to the 2.8L V6 wind up in neutral and watching the vette bounce all over the place when it hit the tracks. Then they pulled a U turn and got out of there.
haha wow... and considering the entire canadian pacific railway runs straight through my town... yikes.
But yes, it was more or less a race for amusement than pride. Lately there's been a hell of alot of porsches, corvettes, vipers, and BMW's running around town. It's really odd, because if the people who spent the money on those cars had spent the money on fixing up this town, it'd be so much nicer to live in
What's the Corvettes 1/4 mile time?.......I recently bought an eagle talon side-mount intercooler and Im installing in a week or two... Im looking forward to finally getting my electronic boost controller, so I can get in the 13's
Its like when i had my Sunbird, raced a 98 Cav Z24 with an Auto, and a Sebring, both just wailed on me, but i did have the Sebring off the line, since i got my Sunfire GT, no one has bothered yet, they must know its an Import killer..
