Good stuff all in all... got to drive a BUNCH of new cars.... Heres the list and my opinions....
06 Corvette Z51 - WOOOO..... they are BADASS.... but go figure... felt fast as hell, but the 2nd gear shift was touchy... now I know the cars get the piss beat out of them, but I thought that was a point worth mentioning. 5 out of 5
05 H2 - They had an offroad course setup... 60 degree incline up and down, 45 degree sideways incline.... and some alternating 3 foot tall bumps.... I managed to get the front to bunny hop over these.... now THAT was fun... I never though I would ever own one before... but they are nice as hell, and very offroad friendly... good stuff 5 out of 5
06 SSR - Ok... it might look like a truck, but its not... it accelerate, handles, and rides like a sports car... I would totally own one. 5 out of 5
06 Pontiac Solstice - Ok... now I REALLY hope there was something broke on the one I drove... it was slow as BALLZ.... my friends jetta we rode to the show in accelerated faster... of course it was overheating and not broken in yet.... On the other hand, it handled like a @!#$in dream. I drove the 06 MX5 a month ago, and hands down the solstice would out handle it... and the braking was very close on both... very good. It was slow, so only 3 out of 5. If it actually runs a 15.2, then i would rate it 5/5
06 Cobalt SS/SC - Heh, I own one, but I couldn't resist beating thing around the track... the GTO in front of me couldn't get away muahahaha. 5/5
05 Ion Redline - I was very much dissapointed... it was slower, handled worse, braked worse, and the interior was falling apart... It seemed like this car had taken more abuse than the SS, but it only had 50 more miles on it... that and I cant STAND the gauges.... 3.5/5
05 Escalade EXT - Pimpin ain't easy 4/5
05 Toyota Tundra (they brought competion vehicles too, I just didnt drive many) I couldn't believe exactly how much it reminded me of a silverado... interior and driving... 4/5
06 Saaburo 9-2x aero - Wow. Slow. As. Ballz. It was an auto, and holy crap there is amazing boost lag... on the other hand, car was nice as hell. Perfect for a saab I supose. 3/5

Maybe Im just pissed, pissed that my freinds are spineless, What else would you
call abandoment some night, when you're in a fight, and they could make things right?
Spineless. I miss some of my old friends, the ones who you could count on,
bet a huge amount on, the fact that they'd always have your back... Its like a kick in
the sack, just knowing, you've got nothing to fall back on. @!#$ this, Im done.
no gto
u sure the aero had a turbo?
i know when i went they had a turbo and non turbo version
other cars, better cars?
The line was too damn long for the GTO... and after driving 2 LS2 powered vehicles already... I drove the solstice instead... that was a mistake but oh well.
And yes, it was turbo... the 9-2X isn't offered in nonturbo... its the saab WRX

the ion shouldnt of been any different besides the interior then your cobalt.....ive test drove both, i acctually thought the redline felt faster
ive gone to the Autoshow in Motion twice so far and its been fun to say the least so hopefully next time they come around they have something new to try out.

I highly doubt it was a 45% side slope, a HMMWV isn't even rated for a 45% side slope, and a 60% grade seems a little high for an H2, again because that's what a HMMWV is rated for, and as anyone who's ever driven or seen a HMMWV will tell you the COG is much, much lower then an H2. The COG in a HMMWV is about at a drivers waist while he's driving, and that's in a 72 inch tall vehicle.
Yella02-I promise I will return to you in one piece and this will stay up until I am safely home
its a 45 degree slope
and hmmwvs arent rated at 45%
but you can drive it over a bunker
other cars, better cars?
Yea, I meant 45 degree.... and they told us the incline was a 60.... the H2 is rated for like a 62 up and a 60 down I think it was.... it was definatly steeper then 45 up and down though... didn't bust out my math compass or anything though....

Good stuff...I did it when it was here in Denver in like May...check out my thread...I agree with you on a lot of things (cobalt SS, Ion Redline, Vette) but I thought the H2 sucked...also, I felt the GTO had less moving room than the Vette, but the tranny was like shifting gears in a cloud...
There was no SSR at my show, but I got to drive the Bonneville....now that was a piece of art...it was huge, but handled like something the size of our cars...and had a HUD
My Auto Show in Motion pics/report
A HMMWV will traverse a 40% side slope, climb a 60% grade, and step over at least a 20 inch high wall. Those are requirements for any vehicle in the military that will travel over the road.
