Scion tC today...
Yeah, I know it's not a big thing for the US crowd, but the tC's aren't street legal here... I saw one from NH I think.
I'm surprised, I thought it'd be a little more narrow than it actually is, thought something like Civic Narrow.
I saw an Xb a while ago, and it was a little odd... but I think it looks a lot better than the Honda Element.
There is no underlying point to this post, just that I finally saw something I thought was a bit of an oddity, and felt like sharing.
Good day

Some people are like slinkies: Not really good for anything,

When i got mine in May, i went to Niagara Falls the day after. EVERYWHERE i went i had people stopping me and wanting to check it out
Its actually pretty wide, and really big inside. Most comfortable coupe ive ever been in
i wasn't sure there was an underlying point to any of your posts GAM.
I saw one in Ottawa a few weeks back for the first time...It was black. Looked nice
JCO EAST
I had a friend with a tC come up here to Toronto back when the tC had been out for only a couple months. We got looks everywhere we went. He even let me drive it. It really is too bad we don't get them here in Canada, I think they'd be a huge hit here.
I think so too
They are blowing up in America
I know around here, when i got mind I had only seen one around, now i see one everyday at least down here , if not more. Ive been to Miami and Columbia SC in the last two months, and they were everywhere, in fact, i saw my release series tC in both places
I saw my first "new" Charger today. And it almost made me puke.

can i add to the first time seeing cars post? i recently saw my first Aston Martin Vanquish in Maine, i just didnt think people up here bought cars like that. and even better, few weeks ago i saw my dream car, car i have wanted forever, also thought no one in Maine owned one.,... Lotus Elise, brandy new one too
i live in Maine witch as you know is right by canada, so i see quite a few CA platted 4 door 03+ sunfires, i still think seeing those down here in the states is cool
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
i had lots of toys when i was young.slinky,etc.but once i found my penis, that was all she wrote
I believe you can import a tC, xA or xB to Canada without much problems. Theres a guy in the London area that did it:
The TC is not allowed in Canada. Same with the GTO due to the bumpers not meeting canadian safety standard. We are a lot stricter up here, from Daytime running lights on cars fromm 1990+, to bumpers and so on.
Im sure if you knew a couple people you could get one across fairly easy.
Yeah, my tC doesnt have DRL's
I need to go to Niagara Falls again!
only the 2005 scion tc is inadmissible
if there is a 2004 ( i think there is?) you can import it with no problems

Scion tC's are not eligible for import... Side-impact, and DRL issues I believe is what the hitch is, but I'm not certain. I know the 2.5MPH bumper restriction in the US is what is keeping the GTO from coming over.
The Scion Xa and Xb weren't eligible, but after review were allowed.
Laura: At leas we got 240 SX's with a VLSD.

Oh Emor8T: I exist merely to confound the experts.
And I try to keep War Forum BS in line even though I'm not a Mod (AND NEVER WANT TO BE ONE!!!)
ANYONE BUT GAM in 06!

Who's nuts?
I've always liked the 240's, even in 89/90 when I first saw them (not that many mind you). I'm not big on the AE86's personally... they looked a little too much like a land-bound Battlestar Galactica ship to me. RX7's on the other hand... I likee...
Along with Scion tC's and Xb's (just to bring the post back on track).

There 2 Scion, the boxy one, Xb's I think for sale in Winnipeg, nobody wants to pay the rediculously high prices for them. So they are just sitting on used car lots, for a while now.
And those damn bumper issues keep a Lancer Evo out of canada, cause of the intercooler.
Jonathan: Yeah, the EVO's are going to be staying out with the next Generation from what I've read... Until Transport Canada changes the frontal collision laws, a LOT of cool vehicles are going to be kept off the road here.
What are the dealers asking for the Scions? If it's over about $18K CDN, it's too much.

I know the base of an Xb in US is around 14K, if you can find one. The Scions are hard cars to get, they fly off of the lots
