Just found this car for sale. Its a 95 GT Convertable Mustang 5.0 V8. The guys is asking $8,500 for it. After I test drove it I brought him down to $7000 just my budget. Do you still think its a good deal. Thanks JBO! Everything works, needs a good interior cleaning and new tires.

A bit on the highside for a 95 GT. They are THE last of the 5.0's the mileage is pretty low also (if you can verfiy it to be correct)

Just last summer I got my 95 Cobra with 68k for 7.7k from Florida. So I think it is still a bit high for what it is might see if he will go a little lower.

95 5.0s are rare cars are they not?

7k seems a bit high for those cars, but im not sure.

I was told a looooong time ago in auto class in high school that the rule of thumb is if the odometer's numbers are all zig-zagged and stagered, like this Mustang's are and not all straight (with the exception of the last number) that the mileage was tampered with. I'd seriously research that car.

Nah I've seen 2 or 3 and they are usually staggered like that. What does happen is a PO can put in gears, or the odometer can break and then the mileage will not turn anymore (if this hasn't been fixed look for a trip meter stuck at 000 miles) Always best to do a carfax or similar.

As for them being "rare" a clean 94-95 is getting harder, and harder to come buy IMO. I looked for 4+ months for my car then got it on impulse on ebay..If I had seen it in person I would have rethought buying it. :O (almost all better now thou so no worries) If it is clean he might be lucky to get near what you offered him, 94-95's have a weird market... Just 2 months ago I saw a 94 Cobra with less then 50k miles sell for 12k! Of course that is Cobra not a GT.

If you have any questions about stangs, or 94-95's in general hit me up on aim or just post up. Good luck.

I looked at a bunch of 5.0's convertibles this summer. If the car is a 5spd, those are the original miles, and the car is in very good condition, it is probably worth the money. It's hard to find a 5.0 convertible thats in gc and with decent miles for a good price anymore. I looked at many ragged out 94-95's for 5 grand. The auto's seem to bring quite a bit less compared to the 5 spd's because everyone wants a stick.

Nice car either way. I'd also carfax it and check to see if the top leaks.

This is true. I drove a bunch of lt1 f bodies and 5.0 convertibles, the f bodies are considerably quicker and they are mostly plastic so no rust or dents. I got my 96 formula convertible for a bit less than half the price of that stang you're looking at, it is some what on the ragged out side though.

Honestly I think it comes down to what style you like like better mustang, camaro, or firebird.

And interior. I've never cared for the inside of a fbody or the engine bay either. (way to tight) My 5.0 is pretty easy to work on. I'd still take a newer WS6.

I asked him to send me interior pictures. After that I am going to set up a time to see the car. Any tips on what I should look for? Im going to see if I can bring him down in price.

I bought the car from a dealer..they were originally asking 11K for it. I laughed and walked out. I made them a cazy offer 2 days later for 7K. They blew me off for about a week. The salesman then called me up and asked me what it would take me to buy the car. I told them 7500 out the door..they came back with 7800 so i took it home The car was bone stock when i got it, i put the SS wheels and black outs on it.

Sweet deal. I have to try that. I have nothing to loose. One more question so when you made the offer you called and made the offer or did you go back into the dealership?

i called and offered that. They said no so i just said ok thanks for your time. I gave them my number and told them to call me if they get anything else in similar in that price range. Knowing that they would not of course. But i figured theyd come to there senses.
