well since i havent seen anything new here in a long time i figure i would post an old race of mine
i had the lumina with these mods:
5 speed swap
intake
full exhaust
jd forged internals 10.5-1
p and p heads
pullys
and a mild cam grind by comp
fox body had:
intake
full exhaust
clutch
flywheel
rearend dont remeber the specs prolly like 3.98 or somthing like that
cams
well this was a race we set up a while back and when we did it we went out to the spot and lined them up i got off the line first and stayed there through 1st gear and 2nd i climb about a good 3 cars out front and i stayed there the whole way through till the end
when i went to the track my car ran the best time of 14.2 at like 98 on slicks
not bad for a car i bought from my grandma lol

and yes i did swap a 5 speed into my lumina it accually wasnt that hard lol
just so you know stock 5 speed in my lumina with a stock motor ran mid 15s

course a 3800 isnt even the same block as a 3100 or 3400 when people say 3x00 they mean 3100 3400 3500 and the new 3900 they are the same motor basically 60 degree v6
where as the 3800 is the same as the 3.0 and 3.3/3300 which are 90 degree v6 motors

yeah, that's kinda what i was gettin at. out of all of those, the 3800 is really the only one that could put a hurtin on a 5.0 like that, and that's not what it is.

it was a 3100 but with the mods i did list above that should at least stay even with a 50 with those mods
but i did have more mods but this was a long time ago and the cars has come and gone so who knows
