A friend of mine is has managed to warp the rotors on her 300M, the car and pedal will shake when she is applying the brake. and of course the faster she is going the worse it is. what I was wanting to know is
- Is there an easy way to tell if its the say just the front or rear rotors?
- does anyone have a recommended course of action like resurface the front first and see, etc?
- do you need to re-bed the brakes after a resurface? ( I'm assuming you do )
- anything else to add that I missed ?
we all know garages like to take advantage of the ladies, and I want her to walk in arm with information.
get a dail indicater and find out which rotors are warped.
-Borsty
tell her to sell her Chrysler and get a good car.
on a seriouse note, usually you can feel which one it is. but if not, do like Borsty said. then see how much new rotors are as opposed to resurfacing. and adjust plans accordingly. and she might need new pads, too. warped rotors will wear pads quicker and more unevenly.

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

thanks for the input guys if I wasn't in way down in So Florida. I'd check myself.
Yep what these guys said...^^
I would also add that is very simple in concept and practice.
But the way you put the lug nuts on could and will affect the balance of the wheel and brake.
If you put them in a circular pattern you are looking for trouble and it is the wrong way and could cause the vibration premature brake wear.
A simple star pattern should fix or prevent future problems.
Place and tighten like this:
1
3 4
5 2
If that makes sense.

Also overtightening them can cayse the rotors to warp. The Rams that come with factory 20s have that problem.
Yella02-I promise I will return to you in one piece and this will stay up until I am safely home

You laugh but you should see the huge amount of people that put in and tighten the lug nuts in a circular pattern. Big no-no!
