Confirmed according to a guy over at Les Stanford...I wouldn't say it's written in stone, but based on the fact that he's one of the largest Corvette dealers in the country, I'd put some credence in his words:

For those who don't know, Bob Lutz has been pushing for a Super-Vette beyond the capacities of the current 500hp Z06. The speculation is that it will either be a supercharged LS7 or maybe the rumored LS9 engine.
other cars, better cars?
current 505 hp... but the words been it wont be a supercharged ls7, the cylinder walls are too thin on that small block. If its coming, it'll be supercharged ls9 which is a 6.4l.
but its got the steel sleeves so the thickness of the Al doesnt really matter
they would just have to make the compression a little bit lower
other cars, better cars?
Too thin??? Okay. You make it sound like the block is weak. I am 100% a low compression boosted LS7 would be WONDERFUL.
How do you think there are shops pushing TT 427's?? Working it over. Plain and simple. I can't see why GM wouldn't just toss a supercharger on the LS7 mated with some bigger CC heads. Yummy.
This is actually quite old news. GM has been 'confirmed' about the release of the Blue Devil for about 1 1/2 years now.

Some blinker fluid and a couple muffler bearings.
^^
but they havent given word to any dealers yet
other cars, better cars?
Agreed.
GM likes to keep things under wrap until about 6 months before release.
We shall see. I first heard about the Blue Devil well over 2 years ago.

the question im askin is, what will it be named? they're not gonna keep the "blue devil" name for it. think the legendary SS (no so much anymore) will make it to the corvette line? they made one in fifty.... seven? i think? i would be great if they brought it back.
Andy
it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.
ZZP XP cam, 1.6 rockers, 105# springs, speedbuilt FWI, 3.3" modular pulley, TOG headers,
3" exhaust, flomatched injectors
'97 GTP 14.06@100.6mph pre cam w/ 3.5" pulley, I/E
If I were you guys I'd be waiting for the news to come from GM before getting my hopes up. It's been shown in the past that people a dealerships don't know jack and are as likely to spout rumors as anyone else.
All rumors rumors rumors.
Dave Hill and Bob Lutz have said about a month ago at a Z06 press conference that the Z06 is the ultimate Vette and they have no plans on it for a "Blue Devil."
What Dave Hill did say that the C7 will be even better then what we see on the C6 & C6 Z06
The ones testing in Nurburgrin (sp) were Z06s with drivers from ALMS C6-R and many spy photographers thought it had some sort of F/I in it because it was going so fast when infact it was N/A and GM was proving how the Z06 is as fast as is.

Les Stanford is in the city I grew up in and just moved from a year ago. They're great at dealing with their vettes (they have a lot strictly for vettes) but any other model they try to screw you on. If it ends up at his dealership in the showcase after all the auto shows (doubtful) I'll get some pix..

This "Blue Devil" concept car has been around for a couple years now. They've tested it at Nuringburg in Germany and its what the new Z-06 is based off. I doubt you will a 650 hp production Corvette ever built.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
i bet they said that about a 500hp production vette too
