well, the turbosport is pretty well destroyed! on my way to a local show today and bam, the hood pins let go and my hood flys up. scared the @!#$ out of me and my girl. NOTE* i DO NOT reccommend locking hood pins! they rattled a little and opened themselves right up. WTF!

we're going to salvage the hood and do alittle custom work to it, but it also smashed my windshield, and dented the roof, and left 2 chips where the hood pins were. so we're fixing the roof this weekend and repainting it all. then fixing the hood, and i may be getting a 2nd hood due to a possible sponsor setup. I pray that works out, but the mission is to have her ready for Scrape by the Lake on the 19th.

ill keep this thread updated with the progress of the "rebuild", but heres some pics for now. thumbs down!

sucks.. get it fixed, so I can see it in person at the scrape. I think you should stick with the turbosport hood. It flows so well with the front end.

I have the STOCK latch on mine, never had a problem, even at 100mph. You got Lucky that you did not get in an accident. Too bad about the hood, but atleast you and your girl are ok.

The hood was so hot the way it was painted, I hope you can fix it up or do up another the same way! Sorry for the bad luck man!

ya, this was actually the 2nd time i drove it so far, and this happened. hell, i went almost 10 miles before it kicked up.

i should find out today which way im going with it.

with the conversion, the radiator cover that holds the stock latch didnt fit, so i figured id be fine with just the pins. boy was i wrong!

i cut it up a bit, and we're gonna weld it back in this week and the stock latch will be going back in! think i may go back to classic hood pins as well. for a little extra piece of mind.

Ohh ok, well get that ish fixed soon.. Doesn't deserve to be in the garage any longer than it has
