I am looking for a z24 cav and i found one that has 289000 miles on it. one owner serviced every 3000 miles... what do you guys thank they are asking 800 an im going to use it for dirt track racing but dont know .. i heard the head gasket are @!#$ and need replaced but dont know much about the 2.4 LD9.. and there dependable thanks

i race a 99 sunfire gt with a ld9 the head gasket is a pain but mine lasted 2 seasons with 167000 before i reringed the motor and the third season had nothing but trouble with popping head gaskets because the knock sensor was bad but still won 8 races and the track championship so i would say buy it and rebuild the motor try to do the 2.3 oil pump swap and make sure the sensors are working move the computer from in the passenger fender well to where the battery is and move the battery to the trunk
