I have a stock Ecotec 5 speed 2003 sunfire, and was wondering what times these can get.
I race my 70 Nova at the track 2 times a week and run 12.2s... but this car still feels pretty quick.
I want to try and beat the stock record for an 03+ jbody

Mid 15s would be a good estimate. Get a cai and exhaust, engine mounts and you will be able to get high 14s.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
mid 15's if you are a good driver

Seriously?? Who's hit 14's in a stock j-body???
My best was a 15.27@80 something....don't remember the exact MPH. It was on a cold night at sea level though.
I think I would get pretty close to the 14.99 area... I seem to be better driver than 99.999% of people my age. (im 16). My dad taught me how to drive good and I drive 12 second or faster muscle cars everyday so im pretty much used to it all..... I was High School Champion at Gateway International Raceway for 2006 my 1st year racing. Racing starts in a couple weeks so ill see then..

Stock = buy it, drive it from the dealership up to the track and run
That's stock, the "real stock". So why are we even talking about 14.xx times?? God I just hate those stupid people claiming impossible times stating it's "STOCK" when in reality it's far from it.

That's why I asked. I didn't know it was possible but hey... what do I know?
Of course... if it WAS possible... you'd think enough people would have done it that there wouldn't still be 15's listed on our top 10 listing, right?
I was more responding about travis maser & mister I'm the hot shot of drag racing at 16 years old 79TAKid!!!

my 03 went 15.28 bone stock, took alot of runs to get the feel for things.
I ain't callin u a gold digga,but you ain't messin wit a broke cracka
15.27 with only the lower mount on a 55degree day in michigan
Those times are pretty much the brick wall limit of
REAL BONE STOCK, again a term that most people do not understand and use all the time. Bone stock is dealer ---» track, run as bought with factory equipment from A to Z. Mad props for those times.

maybe he realized (with the rising cost in gas) that putting gas into a 12 second car that gets probaly 15 mpg aint practical. and he uses the fire as a DD like most of us do.
