We race a cavalier in a pony stock clas at local circle tracks. We want to make it go faster and got a couple questions....

1. In the head, there is fins in the exhaust ports. What is the function of those? Can we grind them down to get more free flow?

2. Is there a way to reset or reprogram the ecm to get a higher RPM? We seem to hit the rev limiter at certain tracks and need that extra little speed.

If there is any little tricks you guys may know, feel free to tell us. We need some speed out of this baby! We're very restricted rules wise, so if its a cheater part or something, it would have to be well concealed.

Thanks so much

Steve

Im not 100% sure but I remember reading that you should keep the fin in the exhaust port. I cant remeber why but I was reading up on things back when I had my 92 with the 2.2 and it was supposed to be helpful. As far as the rev limiter you should be able to get a chip burned to whatever specs you want. I know there are some people here that know all about it. I dont know any companies off hand though.
