Last time at the track this year.
Sunday, November 18, 2007 6:17 PM
Went to Lapeer for one last time this year. Was running 10 PSI this time and hoping to improve on my times from last trip. I failed to achieve a better ET but did improve on my MPH. The day was overcast and cold and traction was a big problem.

My best ET was 14.046

My best MPH was 108.92

Broke something in the trans I think, so it had to be towed home.

Now some Pics thanks to Jay Van.

And the one vid he has. Sound is very quiet so you will have to turn up the volume.

Mucho love.

Get it fixed.

Get some drag radials.

Line up with me in the spring.

It will make for some very very good racing.

I have a goal to reach before DRs. I know its going to be hard to do. Will modify the S/C program after that goal is achieved as well.

tough break clyde...you're the mad scientist though, I figure 15 to diagnose, and maybe an hour to fix. I'm surprised its not back running again

PDT STRIKES AGAIN!

Well it runs, but it doesnt move under its own power.

Third tow this year, just not motivated enough to even look at it right now.

replace everything you havent broken yet with new parts, that way you wont break everything else next time

^^^^ well that would be the body. That trans only has about 7K on it and based off of the past 3 transmissions i should have had at least another 3K to go. Now it may also just be an axle broken inside the diff. They are original and due for replacement, regardless of what actualy failed I will be looking into replacing them, and not with Murrays special parts.

Trying to save up some money for the TG insert until I can actualy afford the Quafe (sp) diff.

So far this year its been:
1 piston and head (required complete rebuild)
1 aluminum flywheel (ripped the hub out, back to stock)
Whatever the hell happened this time.

All 3 required a tow home.

the14.0 run

60' 2.208
1/8 et 9.466
1/8 mph 86.88
1/4 et 14.046
1/4 mph 107.66

108 pass #1

60' 2.243
1/8 et 9.802
1/8 mph 86.05
1/4 et 14.396
1/4 mph 108.92

108 pass #2

60' 2.324
1/8 et 9.449
1/8 mph 84.55
1/4 et 14.595
1/4 mph 108.91

Traction was a BIG issue. No consistency at all for the runs i got in, unless you consider crappy running of course.

I was using a very worn out set KDWS tires at 20 PSI hoping for better traction than i got with Azenis and I have not altered the S/C reflash at all. I know the car can do better with better weather. I have a goal that i plan on achieving before I alter the reflash or get DRs.

The VSS registers so I would have to assume its probably the diff that gave up (pinion and spider gears).

Hahaha Thanks DTP.

Speedo still reads so im guessing I have a NWD vehicle due to a destroyed diff.

Took it apart today. The driver side axle splines are still inside the spider gear. Took the trans apart to see about getting the axle piece out of the diff. and found a crack inside the case. Broken Fidanza strikes again. Guess when the flywheel lost its hub and contacted the bell housing it did some damage that i couldnt see before. Time to get a new trans and hopefully TG insert.

Looking like it will be on jack stands until spring. No $$$ for axles and trans yet. Still waiting on response about the insert though (the cheap part).

This will be number 5 or 6. I usualy just destroy the second gear syncro. But have taken out a diff before. First time to snap an axle though.
