Im looking into doing an Ecotec swap in the future, sometime next year.
Im curious, what are some average, mildly built, eco times with the m62 blower?
I will try some n/a stuff to start out and get a feel for the motor and what not, but I might want some kind of boost. It might be a little too early too plan on boost when I dont even have plans to swap yet, I just know that I want to. But I like to research the living hell out of what I plan on doing before I go ahead and let 'r rip.
How fast are you blown ECO guys going in the 1/4?
This might help me decide on a Monster n/a setup, or a mild supercharged setup.
thanks!
Well, I would say when mine was blown... anywhere from 5min to infinity. I'm not sure exactly how long it takes to push a car with a blown engine down the 1/4, but I think if there is only one person driving then maybe like 5 minutes...
...lol For real tho... prob around 13.8-14.2@100ish Thats being a little bit optimistic too.

I don't have the M62, but from what I've gathered from posts around here, what ^ he said seems to be in the general range. So I'll second what he said.
Alrighty, thanks guys
lol -- you could push one across the finish line... or tow it? FF FTW!
I think im going with the s/c. Not too too fast, but fast enough.
Typically a good performing 5spd should pull mid 13's or something really close with the M62 + the normal bolt-ons (heat exchanger, motor + tranny mounts, header + full line, sticky rubber). S/C Pulley change + good tune should make you a serious mid 13 and under contender.
Bone stock 5spd + M62 and sticky rubber should net you low 14's. I went 14.24 with an automatic, motor mounts + DR that's it.
All in all it doesn't take alot more than the M62 in mods to pull a 13 sec timeslip.

Im liking this more and more
Ill have a full exhaust, mounts, tires, pulley, light crank pulley, maybe PP head with +1mm valves -- possibly heat exhanger, alky... i dinno maybe some other goodies
should be a nice machine.
Driver behind the wheel is also a big part in pulling a decent time, a mod that should more often be looked at.

I have ran 14.0 at over 101mph numerous times, I have the 3.0 pulley, aem intake, 2.5 exhaust and the upper mount, the only trouble is it wont hook at all out of the hole, you'll love the blower, it catches alot of people off guard.
Try a set of M/T 225/50R15 ET Street Radial up front. I'm now using 15" steelies but for the next season I'm going with lighweight Motegi Trak Lite for my D/R.
Best 60' of 2.06 so far with only one trip at the track with the M/T. Automatic let's not forget.

This is making my skin crawl with excitement.
Id like to think I can drive pretty well, however Ive never been to the track... I catch on pretty quickly.
