well i didnt run on nitrous cuz the only shop in the area that did refills stopped doing it. and i only ran on 15psi cuz i kept forgetting to chance to the 2nd boost level and when i did, it was too late and was 1/2 way through 4th. only made 4 passes. broke on the 4th one.
hoping its just an axle, and didnt shatter the clutch. no fluids leaking, holes anywhere, still has pedal pressure. goes into gear without the clutch in...
gonna fix it then put the car up forsale. just tired of spending money on it and lost interest. motor ships out this week on my s2000 so the cavi is gonna sit for the next 6-8 months.. just wanna get rid of it.

Nice vids !!!
Sucks that you broke like that !
If its not an axle, you may have taken out the diff. Good luck on fixing it up.
I'm surprised you have not broke more axles with those launches. DO you slightly engage the clutch when you get staged?
FU Tuning
Boy are you late on the tree.
get it up on jackstands and see if the axles move at all when in gear...

whats wrong with the launches? i slip the clutch as much as possible.. its an unsprung stage 4, so its not that easy

John, put it in storage for a bit rather than sell it... Good thing it was only axles and nothing major.
Didn't get to see the videos, nice brake! At least it wasn't the diff. What u askin for it?
John, breaking is racing. Ask any of the guys on this site who push lots of power and fast times how many times they've had to push the car back into the trailer and fix it. Not to mention you are on stock axles. I put at least 100 low 12/mid 11 passes on the sunfire with basically the same setup but better axles. If you need good axles, Drive Shaft Shop STG 5 axles lasted me at least 200 passes and that was going to the track pretty much every week. Other than the axles, I can't think of much more that will break unless it's a fluke, hang in there.
As far as your racing style, you need to drive a FWD car, (or any car for that matter) with your left hand on the side of your steering wheel, not on top. If the car ever pulls hard to one side, you will lose control. ALso, you wont have to move your hand to hit the high boost button.

how in the HELL did it snap BOTH at the exact same time?!

i know adam, but HUGE FEAR is that if i had the DSS 5 axles, is that the $60 axle that took all that shock and broke was replaced with one that wont break... that shock has to go somewhere.... and the diff is next in line if the clutch wont slip and the tires wont spin...
$60 --oem axle with warrenty
$1400 --quaife lsd
thats the reason i havent went with stronger axles yet..
can u go into details about how your diff was when u pulled if after the season? cracks? damaged gears?

That sucks man, sorry to see/hear.
Adam, in Michigan we call that the "arm" it's the sign of being pure gangsta
John, how do you like the quaife? Did it make a big difference in the launch and traction through second gear? Sucks you broke but at least it was the axles. Although I thought the Quaife had a lifetime warranty in case something did happen. Still waiting to install mine

i dont have one. dont have the cash to drop on one. how much did u pick yours up for?
the quiafe and dss axles are gonna set me back another 2k... its just more money i dont have and dont wanna spend.
i think the quaife unit is only covered under warrenty, dont think it covers axles.

Dont give up man, but I know what you mean, it just comes to a point in your life and you got to move on.
Good luck man on whatever you choose to do.

hmm..sweet..now sell me your turbo kit..that thing makes me wanna ..hehe...
that sucks.
so are you gonna sell the car as a whole or piece it out. if your selling the car as a whole, how much and if your pieceing it out then im interested in the portfueler, 20g, and turbo manifold
let me know
asking 15.. been offered 12. i have all the reciepts on everything and bought the car off the dealers lot in 04 with 4 miles on it. 2 of them my test drive. paid 10,500. i dont think its a bad price considering 03-05 cavis go for around 7k here

both axles at once....... wheel hop > axles
My stock J-body axles held up pretty damn good..... I did notice that one on the drag car started to twist at the inner splines (that goes into the trans), the outers were fine. My new axles are the N/J body hybrids, so the outer is a bit thicker then the J's.

If so what exactly is broken, is it possible for this to be the case and have a problem in the differential and still have it drive?
