skwirlly stay motor.. or go for boost at the Bash 07?
Tuesday, February 13, 2007 11:43 AM
so guys i'm at a crossroads

On one hand I would like to stay all motor and throw down some completely rediculous times at the bash in front of everyone while having my giant "ALL MOTOR" sign on the back window of the skwirl

on the other hand, my thirst for raw performance and power still needs to be quenched, and I'm starting to die inside for a built and boosted motor.. which is very much possible for me by bash time

so which would you rather see...

a fully built all motor skwirl with higher compression and ITBs

or

a fully built turbo charged monster with a GM race manifold, and rediculous amounts of power

vote now!

i wanna see the itb's. that would probably be the harder unexplored road but it would be great. anyways you can still put other things on top of it to drop the times more.. *wink*

Honestly, it's a big decision for you.

All motor allows of ton a bragging rights, and is pretty respectable, but you've already had fun with that, and are pretty much near the limits of an all motor Eco.

Go boost if you're looking to go bigger!

I so go boost and put some braggers to shame.

think about it this way, how many people are acutally going for an all motor setup? how many people just slap on a turbo.

^^which is the exact reason I'm torn

I would love to stay all motor and show how much an eco can do with not too much into it... and on the other hand I want to raise compression and just go for broke all motor and really whoop some ass without a power adder (but I may pack some nitrous with me just as a little extra kick and fun)

but.. the car has performed beautifully n/a and not with much power... if I were to apply myself to a turbocharged and fortified ecotec I know I could break some serious records and instead of being the 'fastest all motor' jbody maybe go for the 'fastest jbody period' sect.

at this point, I'm still wanting to show the world what an all motor jbody can do.. but a fully built motor with forged internals, higher compression, and a balanced bottom end may make its debut at the bash.

..and don't think I'm going to take it easy either.

I'm breaking records, or breaking the car.. either way something is breaking lol

lol like i said ryne

I think I'm still 90% for all motor

especially since I know everyone would love to see that at the bash.. maybe GM would like to see it

I'm not done with my 15 minutes of fame just yet =P

I wanna see the TVR new toy too I know you got something insane up your sleeve =P

Either way its slow with Utah air but id say heep the N/A, LSD, ITB, your "exhaust" because we all know the ecotec is garbage

I saw stick with a all motor. The stuff you are doing for an all motor car is a real eye opener for the j-body community and just goes to show you don't need boost to be fast. I saw just stick with all motor.

I say go for boost. Yeah the n/a is awesome, but a 10 or 11 sec timeslip is always better than a 13. Plus if you were boosted running those high numbers, you could whoop Ferarri's, z06's and anything that comes across your path in a FWD 4 cylinder. Mass respect right there. Plus id love to see vids of you owning a few fast cars. :p

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

Are you ready to park it as a daily driver?

Just curious how stock the interior is, and what the car weighs now @ 14.00?

I like the idea of the insane all motor Eco! ITB's, the modern version of multi carbs!

option a

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

full interior

the only reason i want to park it as a daily is because i don't feel like getting into any more accidents with it.. the car is too valuable to me to risk during wintertime commutes with crappy nj drivers

i last weighed it at 2500lbs without me in it

all motor please.

and I'm a n00b when it comes to these motors and tuning, but I would think that more progress N/A, especially with the ITB's, would help you with your boost setup when you get there.

put it this way, an all motor setup is like driving a cavalier, sure you may not be the fastest, but when you turn heads, you snap em.

All motor. Boost is boring.

I have some interesting ideas on how we could make a 350hp all motor eco, just dont have the $20g todo it

Built, bottled, ready for 11s. 14.446@93.74mph, 1.848 60' N/A.
