From the 2007, yes 2007 already, NHRA Rulebook....

10:7 Helmets and Googles
As outlined under Class Regulations, drivers in all classes, including motorcycles, must wear a helmet meeting Snell or SFI Specifications. Snell K-98 is acceptable in place of any Snell M-rated helmet.

-SFI Spec 31.1A = Snell SA, open face helmet
-SFI Spec 31.2A = Snell SA, full face helmet
-SFI Spec 41.1A = Snell M, open face helmet
-SFI Spec 41.2A = Snell M, closed face helmet

Drivers of NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and ET cars (13.99 and quicker) must use a helmet meeting Snell K98, 2000,2005 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A, or 41.1/2005 Specs. Drivers in supercharged (believe this means turbocharged too), front engine, open-bodied cars and Funny Cars must wear a helmet meeting Snell SA2000, SA2005 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2005 Specs. See Class Requirements.

Drivers of any open bodied car wearing an "open face" helmet must wear protective googles. Modifications to helmet/visor/shield are prohibited. All helmets must have the appropriate ceritification sticker affixed inside the helmet.

Then your eyes are closed. It's really not hard to find SFI or Snell approved helmets. I mean there's only like 15 or so manufactures that take the time and spend the money to get their products certified.

maybe its cause i looked at the ones at wal mart and pep boys cant even find anything on them lol but they were Bell helmets

Or you give me a call and buy a G-Froce helmet G-Force makes a nice cheap line of Snell SA and SFI approved helmets for a very reasonable price.

Just noticed you were asking about cages for 12.xxx times. You aren't required to have them until 11.999 seconds.

Actually helmets are sized by each company....not by a standard size unfortunately. Knowing your hat size will help with some companies, but not all.
