"When I first heard of Drag Tag I knew it was an indoor racing sim but I didn’t know you used your own cars (yes, real cars). You have got to see this to believe it. "
"Imagine the possibilities of racing over the ¼ mile in your own car...without having to worry about rain, wind, glaring heat or worse, hitting the wall. Imagine racing against your mates - or for that matter anyone willing to compete against you - in an exciting, action-packed theatre atmosphere. No helmets, no roll cages, no pedantic restrictions, just flat out fun!
I’m telling you, this looks pretty damn cool, especially for those of us with a lot of bad weather during the year. We do the “regular” drag racing around here with
two 8 second cars and this would be awesome. Imagine what it could do for the street racing scene? "

what about cars with ram air or intercoolers that depend on the wind in the front of the car to make more power?

when you beat someone in a civic people wine and make excuses
when you beat someone in a cavalier they pull over and check under thier hoods
Check out the web site and the video, you'll see two smaller fans as the car pull in.
This seems like it would be easier than actual dragging.
It would have a hard time simulating launches for those of us who spin off the line.
I think it is funny because a fan does not simulate *wind* for intercooled or ram air cars,
the fan goes one speed, when you race at the track, the wind gets faster as you go
faster * DUH * , does the fan do that, I DOUGHT IT!!! It is not going to be accurate at
all.

Performance increase due to Ram Air is Negligible.
but; maybe they could tie the fan motors into the dyno speed, and the faster your wheel speed the faster the fan blows, I am sure they could do it, just have to have a need, I doubt it would make that big of a difference, If you are upset because your ram air setup lost; then get a turbo. - Semantics that all it is.
That looks really stupid, in my opinion.
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
Lame...........expensive.........WON"T be coming to America in mass!

Most shops already charge $70+ JUST to dyno your car for an hr! It only takes $20 to race at the track + you get real time results with everyday situations (the heat, wind resistance, etc) and you get the thrill of actually going down the track.
Street racing......
Even though street racing is dangerous and most of the time stupid......
It's more exciting than racing on the track because it's free, cheaper on gas, on actual roads, there's a chance of getting caught or crashing, so that all adds in to it.
So in essence I feel it won't do ANYTHING for street racing and it deffinately won't be a popular thing here in america because of how much it would possibly cost! It would get mass attention for the first what, year, give or take (because it's something new). But after that, sales will kill down, prices will go down to try and get more people in, but it'll eventually fail under common business profit, revunue, etc figures.
The only thing that would be crazy and very cool is what Scarab said! Hah, NASA would have to build that simulator with all the math and physics that'd going into that.
