i cant decide weather or not to s/c my eco or trade it off for a ss cobalt or a srt4........
Stay cavy more heads turn when yeah smoke a mustang. Cobalt is in its infancy or tuner market and getting better quickly. and the srt 4 what can i say its a srt 4 every one knows their quick and they are ended in production like the cavalier. So the dases is old gen srt-4 or supercharged eco. Or new gen cobalt ss or the new turbo caliber is probley what your thinking . Remeber this is your car you have to live it so pick the one that will fit your wants the most...
very good point you have to live with the car so best thing would be go with what you really enjoy
another option would be to hold off till 2007 and get a Pontiac Solstice GXP 260 hp turboed 2.0 direct injection

It all depends on whats done on the Srt 4, if it has only minor mods, I have beaten many of them, but if it is really modded, they pull pretty good.
any car thats really modded can pull like crazy. thats the point. Its all up to you man you can make each car about as fast as the other. so its pretty much up to style, which car looks the best. I would get a cobalt those cars are sexy

secondly, get what you like.... any car can be fast if you do the right things to it. The SRT has the advantage in stock form, its quick, and handles well. Cobalt SS can be somewhat equal to a Stage 2 SRT with the right mods to it, but after that it gets increasingly harder to make it faster (blower gets maxxed out). Cobalt IMO after having worked for Dodge as a tech for 3 years is the better car. SRT 4 build quality was so-so, Cobalt seems a lot more solid. As fas as driving experience, they're about equal, with the SRT having the edge in speed and Cobalt having a little more comfort. Both SRT and SS engines can handle pretty much the same amount of HP (well, let me rephrase that... THEORETICALLY they should be able to handle the same HP, just no one with an SS has quite gotten that far along yet). If it were me, I'd take the Cobalt or stay with the cav... mainly cuz 4 doors are ghey.

yeah the srt4 is fast. it should be. but its a neon. if you have to get an srt4 why not just wait and pick up a caliber. I like the cobalt more, even if it is slower in a drag race. But hey the cobaltwould take the srt4 in autocross.

but you have to understand that its all realitve. sure there are 12 second Srt's, but theres two huge differences.
1. srt fours have crazy built internals that are strong past 350 (if Im not mistaken) all they have to do is turn the boost up. but the turbo.
2. the only reason more cavs arent running 12's because there arent more cavs. how many turbo cavs are there, and then take that number and ask how many are willing to push there motor far enough for 12's
srt's have support, and the people that buy them dont give a damn about the car. the just turn up the boost and go.

my good friend is running 12.60's on the stock turbo with turboback exhaust and intake and a few other goodies. deffinatly easy to make srt's run quick.
You must admit there are some good 4 door turbo vehicles out there besides the SRT4 but thats getting off topic. I'd go with the S/C Eco in the Cavy or Cobalt SS/SC. That's my $0.02
cobalt ss s/c, order the stage 2 s/c kit as wellits only like $700, brings you up to 250hp.
or hahn stage 2 turbo kit.
Good 4-door turbo car = Galant Vr-4.
But on another note, my friend had an 04 SRT-4 and i loved that car like it was my own.... Till the bastard totalled it.
Nonetheless it was a extremely impressive car for 22,000.

Well my parents own a cobalt ss and I own a turbo cavy. The only thing I have not driven or own is a SRT-4. I would say that yes the cobalt ss is nice but its not as unique as the cavalier since the ss is basically a GM tuner car to get them out there. Many people own SRT-4s as well and to be honest just about every one I see looks the same because people just leave them stock and/or make them faster...nobody does anything looks wise with them. I mean when my parents and I go to the local car shows the number of people that check out my car compared to my parents ss is amazing. People after awhile just don't care about factory modified cars and I love the attention mine gets because I put the time in on it. Thats just my experience. Also first gear and second in the ss are awesome to give your buddies riding with you some wiplash if they are not paying attention. LOL Get what suites you!

If you are going to switch cars, go SRT-4.
If not, stay with Cav and S/C it.
