Hi,

I just want to know if 13psi of front tire pressure is to low for drag application.

I have a set of BFGoodrich G-Force Sport 205-60-15V. I traped 94.388mph running 13psi

Thanks.

Well I have the stock 16's w/ the rsa's. If I go below 22psi the rim spins inside the tire.

And for your question 13 psi is not too low for drag racing if you have beadlocks.

if you go to low it affects traction. a dome would form where the tire meets the track. and then the end of the tires would contact the track

That, and you've got a big increase in rolling resistance because of the buckling sidewalls.

13 psi is called a flat tire.

How low can I safely go with these tires?

25 seems to be everybody's magic number.

i was told to infalte my tires to the proper PSI. then start letting air out until the tires start widening at the bottom

That's what I did (13 to 15 psi in my case)

Thanks for answering!

I'm not a drag racer, but I'm pretty sure you'll gain very little from lowering the pressure of the G-force sports, the sidewalls are pretty stiff so there more likely to cup than to put more tread on the track.

At 25lbs you might still have your full tread in contact.

For a drastic comparison I drive them on the street daily around 35-37psi for 215/45R17.

no offense tim, but that's just plain wrong.

I've run 13.6's with 2.0 60' times on the same size eagle RSA's that you have, at 15 psi tire pressure, and they have NEVER spun on the rim even with 260 ft-lbs of torque being delivered to the front wheels. There's no way in hell that you are spinning a rim in that tire with a 16 second car. Period.

To the OP, just keep trying different things and see what works. I wouldn't take them below 15 psi just for safety purposes though in less its a tire made for drag racing, like a DR or a slick. I don't know if the Sports fall into that category because I'm not familiar with them.
