my best friend has a modified neon RT and i have a ls sport cavalier, we both have intakes and exhausts. he also has a no cat with a sim.,and a short throw shifter. every time we race were dead even, bumper to bumper. but i know my car is faster, because if we go from 5mph i bet him by half to a full car. but when we go from a dead stop his tires will chirp and he gets a half car on me off the line, and i spin for a 2-3 feet....no matter what. with dumping the clutch, not dumping the clutch, lower air pressure, diff tires. and we switched cars one race and he had the same problem. wtf is going on?!
your street racing. thats the problem

doesn't mean he couldn't do it on a track... crappy times of course, but you can do lots of runs in a full drag day unless the place is jam packed

a 5mph rolling start at a drag track? yeah right

^^^ just won't say it. "I got owned!"
c'mon just one time.
theres about 150ft before the tree, and we had a buddy who works there rig the slap sensors to engage the tree 7ft before it, and by the time we hit the tree its green and were gone..........
and now back to the REAL problem... no one can get a good take off in my car. (what is with people on these forums changing the issue to something they can complain about or rag on...honestly these forums are to help people and explain how to do things and fix things, but all people ever wanna do is talk crap.
have you tried different RPMs that you dump the clutch at? or tried riding the clutch
what tires are u using that COULD be the problem also
if you ride the clutch till you can get full traction, then it should be good, other than that, dont dump the clutch and you shouldnt spin tires, on any car. if not then there is a very very awkward problem i myself know nothing about, and really should be checked out.
good luck
