I see other people's times on here and am stunned. Why are other cars that are similar (stock) killing my 330' and 1/8 mile times. I noticed a couple I had better 60' times by a tenth and then by the 330' mark there slip shows them by a tenth and their 1/8 by .500 with a 10 mph faster trap speed.

Some are modded and some aren't!?

Oh, well. I put on my CAI, X3Racing header, gut my cat, and put on my 2.5" exhaust with a new muffler this weekend. I guess my engine just can't breathe.

I would like to see what difference gutting your cat makes. Some people I have talked to said I would lose, some said I would gain.

gutting a cat on any car thats not high horsepower (i.e. 350+) is not going to help you.
and 2.5 inch exhaust on a 2.2 ohv might be hurting you too

Well, my muffler came with a 2.5" inlet, so it's kinda dumb to just reduce it to 2.25" or 2".

not really, you're definitely losing a lot of low end and not making any more power in the high end. 2.5" on a 2.2 ohv is one of the worst mod you can do unless you plan to go boost.

I am going boost, later. I'm trying to save money in the long run by not having to redo my exhaust again. And yes I know I wasted money on a header because I will have to have a turbo manifold. But, it might be a little while before I get that, so I wanna start getting the other parts that are going to really make that turbo sing.

So, back on topic. Are we all agreed that my first run's 330 sucked because the engine isn't breathing or what?

My original piont was that I know my 60' time sucks, but other cars that had a crappier 60' time had a better 330' time. WTF?

Lots of conditions to factor in, the 2 that are probably getting you the most is the 2.2 itself and your driving.

i pulled a best of 6.35 330 time today makes me glad i have a 2.4 and not a 2.2

MPH ... 68.72


cut down that 60' and your time will get alot better ...

I'm going to go again in a week and practice several launches to get my 60' down, plus I've got a few mods now. Hehehe.
