so after the motor swap, I took the skwirl to the track with the ecotec engine to see what it was capable of basically unmodded.
here's what I had at the time:

SPEC stage 3 clutch
my best run with this set up was

if you check my registry, you'll see the runs from are pretty consistent high 14s and 15.0s
then I put on the rksport underdrive pulley to see if it would make a difference or not... well it seems to have done the trick. The car feels a bit faster, and i have higher trap speeds but I didn't get enough runs to really conclude if the car is truly faster or not.. here's my best of 2 timeslips for today (it was very busy and only got to run twice)

i hit rev limiter in 2nd gear which killed the rest of the run. That WAS a 14.8 second pass but i screwed it up... I think I'm hitting the track again on friday to get the 14.8 merrit badge.
mandy (lambofgoddess)came with me but today wasn't a good day... we lined up next to eachother for our crappy runs of the day (low 15s... POOOOOOO!!!)

currently our battle is 2 - 1 with me having 2 wins (we go by who crosses the line first) she got me pretty bad the time she whooped me
its hard to line up at the track when there's lots of cars, but when we do its a life and death struggle =P

Yes indeed it was a crappy day for all of us at the track.
However those other cars seemed to pull those 7's just fine. lol.
Why do you wear a helmet running a 14.9? I thought you only needed one if you were trapping above 100mph?
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
Maybe he cares about his life? Just a possibility....

its required at tracks in nj you could run 20 second passes, you have to wear a helmet
my car weights 2505lbs (I weighed it at the track) all I have done is removed spare tire and jack, full interior.... some cam equip
I did remove my ac tho which accounts for about 50-80lbs or so i guess

i assume you are using the steelies. What are you running air pressure wise in them? Also if you pulled the A/C on an eco, did you leave the compressor in, or pull it and find a belt.

since pj's sleeping right now ill answer a question......we both put between 22-24 psi in the front tires..and 40-45 in the rears.

like mandy said, we were both running 23psi in the front, and 45psi in the back
we're both on just basic nothing special tires too
i pulled the compressor on the eco.. and found a smaller belt. I also have the underdrive pulley from RK so the belt is VERY small.. I think llike 330? 335? i'll post a picture if I can and get the part number...
people need to remove their A/C more often on our cars!!!

it was a bad day yesterday thats all i'm gonna say . haha. pjs car is slightly lighter than mine now, and pj himself is lighter than me, so that gives him a little something. but i dunno, i was sucking it up yesterday majorly, the all of 2 runs that we got anyway.
