I was at the local 1\8 mile racing and some most of the people I hang out with are in to imports, d-16y8\z6 hybrids turbocharged, crower stage II camed EG's ectra, any way one of them has a 98 LS teg with a vtec head, curb weight is 2400, he is always talking @!#$ about my old school 2.4 and how much it sucks, to the point I was getting mad.
Anyway we raced, really close run, I ran a 9.100 @ 79 and he ran a 9.199@75.
He had BFG Gforce's and I was running Wal-Mart tiers at 45lbs...lol
Any way it was fun and it made some people take notice.
The track was even taking pics of the " stock cavalier" and what i was running.

but yeah watch out for ls vtecs.. specially in light cars..and if they have b16 trannys.. those are so short and wrap out so @!#$in fast.
my buddy has a 92 teg stripped with only 2 seats in it with a ls/vtec. itr cams, ctr pistons and forged rods with a b16 lsd. from a roll we would be pretty even when i was on 8psi till about 4th then he would start pulling.
ya the motor is pretty mutch stock, and i dont think he has cams, but ive got some crowler stage -II cams laying around that im going to give him.

yeah good kill. all ls vtecs aren't the same though I've seen ls vtecs barely faster than an rs teg. But if done well they are at what 200 hp ffrom the get go ? B20 bottom with vtec head = NICE

LS/Vtec cant be classified for the fact that there isn't a "stock Ls/vtec". They could use any combo of heads, cams and valvetrain components. was he tuned because they run like ass if not. so he could've only been running 150 hp to 180 flwhp. sounds like he was a dick. good kill. you can come race me now lol jk.
