My friends sister got a 04 celica GTS with an Auto Tranny. Well I was planning on heading to the tracks alone when he said he (has a 05 tiburon 5pd and is pretty good at driving) was comming along and was goin to bring his sisters car. he did, i was thinking i would get crushed since it was the "GT-S". We lined up and I beat him a car length. we had 6 runs together and i still won. I have HO mani w/intake, cat back exhaust, motor mounts. What was up with his sisters car? i raced a manual GTS and got spanked.. sumthings probally wrong with his sisters car maybe?
No, the autos are dog slow and run low 16s or so

a torque converter is called that for a reason. if the engine spinning it has no torque, how's it supposed to convert any into forward motion?

both are slow, i ran a gts in my stock 05 sunfire and beat it y a fender, i dont think the guy was a very god driver, but the standard gt versions are extreamly slow autos run in the 17's and low 16s for the manuals.
I beat a manual by about 3 cars at the track and by about 5 on the street.
