How do you launch your s/c'd j-body for the 1/4mil

Aight guys.
What tires you running, (if not normal street tires) and what rpm are you launching at?

I'm launching at ~3k and getting 2.3 60fts. and a 14.7 1/4mile at 96mph. Just using khumo 712's on 16" factory rims.

Well you're already doing better than I am, and I'm getting 2.2 60' times.

i tryed i few methods on night when i was racing my buddys GTI.. and i found 3000rpm was to much and i spun the tires to much... Try 2500RPM it works nicely, and every time i launched from 2500rpm the gti was way behind and couldnt catch up no matter how good his launch was, but any lower and you get that bogging off the line. Just try it on a back road a few times..

i havent really ran my car at the track. But today i turned on the water injection switch and mashed the gas at like 5mph and i burned them through first and all the way through 2nd. It was fun. So my guess is if i ever run my car at the track, i will need some sticky tires.

the ONE (so far) time I ran drags (at Small Car Bash '05 at IRP) it was about 95 out, so overall times suffered (Cobalt SS's were 15.2-5-ish)

I was running my azenis sports, at 35 PSI (that high so I could drive 65 miles home)

Launching at 2000-2200 rpm, still spinning a little, 2.28 - 2.5 60' times and running 15.1's @~90

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.

I drove a supercharged cavvy at the track a couple weeks ago and i got 2.12,2.19 and 2.12 60 foots i ran 14.7

i launched around 2000-2500

(i had never even sat in the car before and stock clutch and getrag with short throw was strange)

the owner got it to run 14.33@96 no giggle juice

I was getting 2.1x and 2.2s every launch with my blower, never went 1/4 though but I would rev to about 2500-2700 and really feather the clutch out, just hold her right at the friction point and then hit it. My problem was spinning in second gear for 30 feet, lol.
