Just curious to find out how many j-body drivers wear helemts when they are drag racing at the track. I know some tracks make rules on helmet usage...
I have to wear a helmet. All 1/4 mile tracks are suppose to require helmets for anything 13.99 or faster.

Most also require one for running a convertible.
I actually thought the speed rule would kick in at 12.99 or faster. I mean, there's plenty of cars running 13's stock. I wouldn't expect someone in a new stock Corvette to need a helmet.

NHRA rules. Any NHRA certified track will have those same rules. Some even go further and make everybody wear a helmet reguardless (like ATCO Raceway). But they're not used to having many people there go slower than 13.9, lol. Except on grudge match night.

^^^ Apparently all 3 Jersey tracks require helmets. ATCO, Englishtown, and Island Dragway. Probably because they know damn well that the more populated an area is, the more sue-crazy jerkoffs there are.

Not yet, the 1/8 track I race at doesn't require it .
For cars running 8.60 or slower, it is RECOMMENDED.
For cars running 8.59 or faster, it is REQUIRED.
My best time isn't even close to 8.59 .. yet

Are local 1/8 reguires them for ALL cars. Other tracks I go to follow NHRA rules about 13.99.
