Well i'm going to the Bristol Motor Drag Strip for the first time tomorrow to run the quarter i was just wondering what would be the best way to launch an ecotec, should i just put it in drive or manually changed gears? and how should i get the best launch?
just leave it in drive, you wont be able to shift faster than the computer. For a lunch, hold the brake, get the RPMS up to like 2500, when the last yellow light is on, release the brake, punch the gas.

Leave it in drive. Mmhmm, manual shifting an auto is never good.

what they both said. just leave it in drive
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
hold at 2500 rpm's, release brake and punch gas(simultaneously) when last yellow light goes black. manual shifting the automatic is not for rookies. its not uncommon to miss a gear. i always manual shift mines. i havent lost a drag in 18 months. PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!
yeah like they all said I have an auto 2.4 and have been to bristol twice this year. I launch at about 2500 . my best time thus far is a 16.013 @84.97mph
good luck maybe see ya at the track this year
