Who Will be the first to break into the 14 sec barrier? Some of you guys "talk the talk, but who will walk the walk"? I see a few of ya are close. I do alot of reading on these forums, but i dont have alot of time to work on my ride, ya know with a house and family to take care of. All im saying in this message is I want to see a ECOTec in the 14's. It only debuted in 2002 the high end cavalier. Im not sure on the sunfires.
Have fun and "Get er Done"

N3V4R!!!!!! J/k, I dunno, some have been really close, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

I've got my money on Ben Wenzel Jr. Check out his SLIPS
. It looks like he does alot of racing, all he needs is a few hundreds.
He's got my vote, anyone else?

Actually it shouldn't be too hard...
Some are hitting mid 15s stock (not me, I can't launch for @!#$). A couple of bolt-ons like i/h/e, pulleys, flywheel and some suspension work, I believe that should get a good driver in the 14s. How hard can it be to go from say 15.5-6 to 14.9 ?
15.958 @ 88.201 stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...
yeah i ran a 15.3 all motor. my best time on the bottle was a 13.9
My Sig Was To Big
ill be there shortly
04 sunfire auto, mid 15's n/a, and still going
ill transfer my mods to my g/fs base cavalier and then we should see a 14ish
especially when the exhaust gets done
I'm workin on it too! Since the time in the Sig I have added a bored TB and port matched my Intake Manifold. And I am ordering a header and hi flow cat to finish the exhaust.
If I don't get in the 14's with that^ Then I give up.
2004 Cavalier
13.2@105........
Mods...
BFG Drag Radials
Saab Turbo kit
2.5 exhaust, w/cutout
Spec Stage 2+ Clutch
i will give it a try Saturday but i dont have many mods but it will get out the hole well so i dont know how well it will run?do you guys think i have a chance to break it?
see ya!
ECOTEC, damn you for having lzm cams that work on your car, but good luck on getting into the 14's. I wish someone would get there with bolt-ons only though.
15.958 @ 88.201 stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...
I never got them any power gains out of them so the cams are sitting in my basement. And those numbers were just with an intake, pulley, and borla Pro XS muffler. Peace

Im gettin close, Ill keep yall posted

what the hell ben spill the beans you have lowered compression and you run a 15.0 with only flywheel, clutch, intake and D/R's ?
shouldn't the lowered compression hurt your times not help them ?

Bryan Festa is hit a 15.3 with not one mod. And those crappy baseline tires.

how much does your car weigh?
shouold cams and regular bolt ons put a eco into the 14s?
-Borsty
^^
maybe
if we had the damn tuning software it definately would
I'm sure it can be done on bolt-ons alone.

I want to get my auto into the 15s first with everything still in the car. my best as of now is a 16.2 with everything in the car, automatic, and im a heafty 300lbs+/- myself
thank you and have a good day

All you need to get an eco into 14's is a bunch of bolt ons and an excellant track. like cold, low elevation, no wind, great traction, ect.
The best I've pulled so far is a 15.778 with a 2.2 60' . I though it was a near perfect run. I took out 91 lbs from the car. I killed a newer SI with this run. he ran a 15.9 with a 2.3 60' (intake, header, exhaust) But it was about 90 F outside.
My Car
I know for sure im in the 14s...easily. There just isnt a 1/4 track anywhere near me, so i cant prove it. There are a few 1/8 mile track, but no 1/4 mile. I wish i could find one.
Im actually going all motor in my car. I wanted to go boost, but i changed my mind, so i will be doing block work soon, and all of that good stuff. So yeah, im definitly in the 14s, just cant prove it. (check my mods if you dont believe me)
