like the topic says...What do you think a stock 96 2.2L Coupe Cavalier would run on the 1/4 mile time?

Head to the track and find out. This is the racing forum. Not the armchair racing forum.
The top 5 here are all in the 15's but I think it's realistic to expect high 16's or low 17's with them.
as it was done by road and track and autotrend a stock 95-97 2.2 5 speed will hit 0-60 in 10.8 and 1/4 - 17.8
98-02 2.2 5 speeds will run 10.2 and 17.6 if u dont believe me look it up to make a 2.2 run 17 it takes a full exhaust intake ignition mods
if it start the next day it can be driven harder
I would say a mid 17 at best
I say dont embaress yourself, and dont run stock, spend cash or dont race your lucky to hit mid 17s I say 18s

With only a fart can it will run 16.7 consistently
completely stock i managed to get 17.22 my first time at a drag track but mines a 2000 so im not sure if thats different
Best run for me was a 17.393 @ 86mph. Thats with 18" wheels, borla muffler, stock exhaust piping, and a short ram intake and 260lbs driver

This thread may be old but oh well i built up my OHV 2.2 and am running consistent mid 15's on slicks and high 15's on 17" rims with street tires but bigger then stock 225/40/17
