Hmmm Ive been watching this and it seems that not to many people have a boosted 2200.
I WILL eventually.

The best time I ran with my old cavy was 14.2@99.8mph.

R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
from what i have seen from the years of being on this site is usally a mid to high 14's are as fast as you will see most are in the low 15's though, but you have to understand that this is very good considering its a car that when stock runs 17's
looks like ill be honing out my cyclinders.....

How much boost were you running?
275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv
13.2 @ 108 mph
-1996 2.4 liter + Turbo + Built motor + Torco + More boost = Lots o' Power
-2000 Mustang GT + 2004 Cobra motor, Whipple 2.3 supercharger,
built rear-end,Dodge Viper spec T56 6 speed, bolt-ons = wheelies at the track!!!!!
^^ hey are you gonna take that beast to the track soon cause I can't hardly wait to see what times it pulls.

I am going to try to take to take it to the track on March 20th. Mike K. and I are going to assemble and hopefully install my other trans with the 2.4 gears & Quaife LSD. When we do the trans, we will also put in my DSS Stage 3 axles and hubs. If we can get all of that done before March 20th, I will run it at the track on slicks

I'm "blessed" with the 4t40e.
That was with 10psi. Will be going to the track this year with my new car though. 98 z28 auto w/ls6 intake, slp lid and filter, longtubes, offroad y-pipe, hooker cat-back, shiftkit, tci 3500 stall. Hoping for mid to high 12's with current setup.

I run 16.5 with my sunfire 2.2 5spd pacesetter header, 2 3/4 in exaust, tb spacer, cold air intake, high flow cat and plugs & wires

the 2 3/4" exhaust is probably raising your 1/4 time... too much back pressure.
i hear the TB spacer is a waste.
16.5 is not very good... even for a 2.2 manual.

You probably mean not enough backpressure. 2 3/4" is kinda big for a n/a car.

Not enough velocity is due to too large of piping (or too much heat loss), too much backpressure is due to too small piping or some restriction, but they aren't the same. In fact they are at opposite ends of the spectrum as far as poorly designed exhaust systems are concerned. But you are right that it is probably slowing him down.
15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?

Best I did last year on my turbo 2.2 was 14.37@100mph with a 2.38 60' time on 13psi.
This year I will be armed with the Quaife and slicks. Im hoping that should bring my 60' way down and put me deep into the 13s... hell I got the trap speeds...
Dan
YEP, my 60' times suck
247HP/267ftlbs at 13psi with built motor

On Friday, my best 1/4th mile was a 14.1 @ 101 mph with a 9.2 1/8th mile @ 80mph with a 2.3 60ft.
I went to a 1/8th mile track yesterday and ran 8.42 @ 80mph with a 1.82 60ft. I can probably get it down to a 1.7 60ft and hit 8.3. That SHOULD be a low 13 sec pass in the 1/4th.
