I'm sure this gets talked about all the time and I don't necessarily expect an answer here but if someone could steer me to the right forum section I'd appreciate it.
I can't seem to get any suggestions or answers on a different Cav Forum.
Here goes:
96 Cavalier (base) , only power option is the outside mirrors.
One of my kids bought this as a 1st car and I'll explain the issue the best I can.
In the morning after the car sits all night, I can go out and it starts right up.
The car will not miss a beat after it it running.
If I drive the car and get it warmed up good, bring it home, and shut it off, it will not restart and the theft light comes on solid.
After 10 minutes, I can go out and start the car with no issues.
The keys do not have the resistor in them.
Thanks
Just basing what u say off of what happened with my friends 04 sunfire he had similar issues and it turned out that the lock clynder in the ignition as accually going bad. The ignition switch was replaced and been fine.
Found a broken wire in the steering column.
