I have a 02 Cavailer which came with the L61 ecotec motor it has 175K and it has finally decided to give in and throw a rod. my question is can i pick up any ecotec 2.2 motor and it would basically be plug and play or are there a few things i need to look for like certain years that will work with my model year cavailer. thanks in advance
Go to www.car-part.com
Search for your make/model/engine.
It will list a bunch of engines that different yards have available. You'll notice on the left side that different cars will be listed. Yeah, they're pretty much the same, but I think people have mentioned to swap to an 03+ engine because they're a bit stronger.
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
thanks for the reply. The junkyards around me all have Cobalt motors which i was not sure if the motor would be a direct bolt up or if the cavaliers ECM would give me some issues.
you need to have a 02-05 cavaier engine and computer and harness
