I have a 2000 cavalier with a 2.2l 3 speed auto. I have done a search and came up with no results. But im sure this has been asked before. There is a black bracket or shield that goes between the valve cover and the throttle body on the 2.2l. I think it covers the fuel rail. I have had my plastic (hopefully upgrading to an actuall metal intake soon)cold air intake and this shield is kind of in the way of my intake. Why is it there? Can it be removed without affecting anything? Thanks
are you talking about the piece that says "2200"?
No. I have removed that plastic piece already when I put my cold air intake on. Im talking about the metal piece that is about the same length as the valve cover. I think that the "2200" intake piece might mount on it. Its located on the top of the engine. One side of it bolts to the valve cover.
