Newb from Central IL

Hello, everyone

Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. My name is AJ and I live in Central IL. I've owned only one Cavalier in the past, and it wasn't for a very long period, but I'm still a Cavalier enthusiast.

My step-son (known here as Corey) is now on his second Cavalier. In order to help him achieve his goals with his car I figured I should join this site and learn as much as I can about these cars.

I'm 38 yrs old. Born on Halloween, 1971. Married to a very beautiful woman who's blessed me with the presence of my step-son, and also bared two children of mine. I've worked on a lot of different types of cars throughout my life, but most of my experience revolves on muscle cars. AAMOF, I own a '71 Camaro which is my street/strip cruiser. I have a vast knowledge on car audio, engine performance, and chassis. My weakest points are body work and drivetrain (I.E. transmissions).

I want everyone to know, based on any questions you have for me, or I may have for you, I always be as helpful and productive as I can. I can't wait to explore the realm of the Cavalier.

Thanks, and Godspeed.
AJ

Thanks, to both of you.

I actually live in Chebanse, about 10 miles south of Kankakee, as does my step-son.

You'll see him on here more than myself (Corey Christer). Or at least after the next month or so.

I just had surgery on my left kidney and will be off work until the middle of December. So, until that time you'll have to learn to tolerate me.

yea i probably should have done a formal introduction of myself, however i was soo in a hurry to get information on my new car since i did end up in a wreck with my original cavalier (1999 cavalier rally sport black) well despite the fact that the insurance adjuster has not come out and probably wont since we just found out that the kit that hit me did not have insurance on that vehicle. ohwell i believe its toast (totaled).

Heres a few pictures of the poor wrecked car:

I however have a loving grandmother who just wants me to be happy and get through college so she gave me an amount and sent me and my grandpa out to find a new cavalier of my choice to make my own again soo Now i have this clean 2002 cavalier LS Silver:

It already has my rims and stereo in it [which it really sux driving around without music, and huge thanks to my step dad (AJ) staying up well into the morning like 530am to get the blasted stereo equipment in (why you ask so late and why we didnt just wait till the next day well thats because i had homecoming with my beautiful girlfriend the very next day so it was kinda of a rush)]

well enough of that i guess lol since i didnt formally introduce myself yet i guess i should now lol well
I'm Corey Christer and im 18 years of age, i graduated highschool at Clifton Central Highschool however i was only there for half of a year so my other highschool that i was in for the other 3 and half years is down in southern Illinois its Galatia Highschool, i am currently enrolled at KCC (Kankakee Community College) im going there for my essentials for now then eventually i want to transfer somewhere and go for somewhere in the Computer and Electronics area.
Ive been in love with the cavalier ever since my grandma had given the back cavalier as a car to drive to school and a way to get out of the house and be with friends well when the original motor gave out actually it was sabetoed and me and my father had to put another motor in it well he found a cavalier that had a impounded title and the guy was going to crush it well he made us a deal on that we can have the motor and whatever else we wanted off the car for 400 bucks so i got the motor and a body kit, rims, and a spoiler. Thats when i started into making it my project which was really fun especially when i get the looks and compliments from ppl

so basically that and the new cavalier that i got now is the main reasons why i joined this forum and ive actually had fun ever since.

Well thats about it or well thats all that i can think of at the moment.
