Hello From Sunny California

Just wanted to introduce myself before I got banned.

I just dropped $120.00 for a 1996 Cavalier Coupe, it just went over 60,000 miles. It is a bone stock tin can with seats and A/C.

The only thing I plan on doing to it in the near future is put some new shoes on it, maybe get a tint. I'd post more pictures but who wants to see pictures of a car worth a buck twenty?

Gotta be something up with it for that price/mileage combo.

Either way, nice pickup. I love my base model more that the Z

This was my in-laws car since new. The car was not used much, about three months ago, it did the anti-theft no start deal. It was at the mechanics and they kept trying to figure out what was up, but my sister inlaw didn't have any confidence in the car so they were just going to sell it to the local junk yard. The pic n pull quoted them $127 for the car, I had $120 in my pocket so I offered it to them and they took the cash. Now the car is mine. I have been driving it for a little over a month and it has done the anti-theft thing twice, but I keep trying to figure out what is causing it, since it is sporadic and has no rhyme or reason, until I do, I only use it when I have short errands to run.

I have been crawling around the interweb trying to find a cure and have read everything from cutting wires, to installing jumper wires, to resetting the system by putting the key to the on position for 10 minutes, then starting, and doing that X3 for newer models. I read around a little bit here and was impressed by the knowledge, so I decided to come on in and see what I can learn. Didn't want to be one of those trolls that just pops their head in, gets some info and off they go into the night.

This is a pretty cool little car and I plan on making it my Daily Driver, especially during the summer. So you guys are stuck with me, until you ban me.

Meh it takes a lot to get banned. You seem like a decent guy.

Did you take it to the dealer?

I have not taken it to the dealer, yet. If I can't figure anything out on my own, then I'll take it to the dealer.

I live in the South Bay, Santa Clara to be exact. AZ24Cav, what did you have in mind for Buck20? Are your intentions honorable? LOL

First thing after getting this car squared away, will be getting some wheels.
