Hey Guys, Im new ! I just bought a black 99 Cavalier Z24 5spd. I'm only 18 and have had many cars before. My first car was a 97 neon that had some mods but it got scrapped. I had a 91 Z24 ( I believe) and that got scrapped.. From there I had a 95 Mustang that was pretty modded, it had a full Saleen conversion to make it a complete replica but I gave it to the wrong person to do a motor swap for me and long story short, parts got stripped and stolen, and therefore I had to sell the car.

I bought my 99 Cav for basically a winter beater but the more I drive it I want to mod it. Not really looking for visuals, but I'd like to either drop in a GXP motor from a grand prix or just turbo the 2.4 I think the 2.4 would need a rebuild to hold the turbo becuase it has 237XXX kms. What do you guys think would be a better chocie for the money ?
thanks... I know of most of the Windsor area J-Body guys from the meets by the way.

Hi Kyle. I'm new also. I believe you need to take your car to a local race track. 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile and see where your car stands.
with a 2.2 stock it should run high 16s sec to low 18s sec in the 1/4 mile and high 10 sec to maybe a low 12 sec.

GM makes a supercharger for the 2.4 but is going to cost you a lot. . Motor + Parts + supercharger + labor Pretty expensive hobby if you ask me but if you have the cash, go for it my friend,

Mine has a 2.2 and is slow as heck but I bought it because I needed a car with my bad credit. but I like it
I have bad credit because my ex wife went crazy with credit cards and then she filed for bankruptcy after we got divorced and the credit cards were in both of our names I now I have to wait five years to get all those late payments off my credit history. what a bitch!!!

I'm sorry, high 10 sec to maybe a low 12 sec in the 1/8 mile.
