Hello Friends, Please allow me to introduce myself

I'm not a man of wealth, but I do have taste. (for all the rolling stones fans out there--- Sympathy for the devil, ha ha)

Anyways, I would like to introduce myself to you all, I'm Ben and I have a green 1997 Cavalier with 55,000 miles. I'm 18, just out of High School and i'm looking to share the joy of my cavalier with fellow J-body owners. I won't go in to details, they are all in my profile. I Just want to say I'm looking forward to gaining knowledge, sharing knowledge and seeing all your cool cavaliers. sunfires and the like.

Hmmmm, it seems this isn't the place for me. With the comments recieved I guess I'm supposed to turn my 97 into the foreign car look. I can't do that with how I grew up and what I grew up with. May dad has a 1965 396/425 Corvette, a 1974 454/390 Corvette (messaged a little) and an 85 Corvette. 2 years ago I bought a 1977 Corvette working on it over the last 2 years. These cars are all stock like they were from the factory when new. So maybe this can explain the reason why my Cavalier is an SS. Something Chevrolet should have done, hey it's different. My 97 is just transportation, not a car to dump lots of money in that I'll never get back. Hahahaha, Cavalier's are throw away cars, not investments like Corvette's are.. Anyway, I can see I'm in amongst the wrong crowd here.

welcome to the jbo. exactly a j is a everyday car not an investment. make it look clean and simple. then dump every last cent you can spare into your vette, at least thats what im trying to do with a 1981 4.2 v8 foxbody number 285 of the 5000 made. its got a 85 3o2 5.0l v8, performer xintake mani, 650 4 bbl carb, d303 cam, 96 cobra 373 rear end, 4 speed auto with high pressure lines. (and i got vin.s to prove it)

Like ecosleeper said, for a J-body clean and simple is the way to go, for my purpose at least. I can respect the j-bodys that have triple their purchase price invested in them. I like to look at those cars, but i'd rather just save gas with my cavalier "SS" and put that money into my Corvette. I'm glad to find out that there are plenty of down to earth people on the JBO and that not everyone is a critical show off. Thank you for your kind welcomes.
