Motor Mounts...

I know what tney are and am considering ordering the upper and lower mount for my Ecotec from Aplus. I'm just curious as to what they do, I've been told time and time again to get them, but nobody has ever really explained to me what they do. Any insight would be appreciated.

The stiffer mounts help keep your engine from moving as much as with the factory mounts.

Thus, less power loss in terms of hp/tq.

Meaning, you get back some robbed hp/tq from all the engine movment from the factory mounts.

You don't "gain additional" hp/tq.
But you get back the stuff that's already there.

Will they be worth it with an auto? or should I put my money towards something else?

I have both RKsport's eco mounts and i am really happy with them. My cav feels more solid than it used to. Aside from them taking back loss power from the drivetrain, they also help with headers. Less movent = less chance of exhaust leaks. My cav is a 5-speed, but i do believe TTR has auto tranny mounts what will help out even more. I say get the mounts.

the stiffer mounts work very well, especially with a stick as long as you dont mind a little extra vibration. its kindof like going will a stiffer suspension, sacrificing ride comfort for performance. i recommend them though, its not a big difference. its not like owning an old camaro cammed out where it feels like its going to throw you out of the car at an idel
