I've heard it both ways from different folks...

Met the NHRA GM Race Team and they called it echo-tec...

While at the Bash in 03....GM there called it eco-tec...

I've said it both ways...prefer eco-tec

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

ya i prefer to call it and hear it said e-co-tec

ecotec

ahh it makes more sense since eco-tec means emissions control optimisation technology

i dont know, kinda like ecosystem isnt echo-system
but e-co-system

oh well

well thank you for the clearification : )

I usually just say "eco" and leave off the tec, it seems every brand has there own "tec" nowadays

i think if it was 'echo-tec' it would be spelled that way - echotec
i'd go with eeeecotec...but since it IS an acronym or whatever you call that E.C.O. stuff it could be argued either way is right, one way just sounds better....eecotec

haha ya

well i figured, sorry to bring this back up to the top btw i was just reading a bunch of random posts and i found this one again

but ya i figured it was pronounced eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeecotec because of the E. (emissions) C. (control) O. (optimisation)

i dont see an H anywhere to have it be pronounced echo tec

which to me sounds so @!#$ dumb

eeeeeeeecotec man

oh well...

echo tec

i believe there was a thread on here somewhere that stated GM's preference for pronunciation. if i get bored enough, i may just look it up.

Lord, that had to have been what...3 years ago? GM's engineering came out and said it was "Echo-tec".

I hate this arguement when it comes to pronounciation; there is a thing called long and short vowel sounds. Not everything is spelled as it sounds.
