hey im new and have questions

I have an 02' cavalier ls sport 2.2L ecotech

1. Would it be worth my time buying a high flow cat?

2. Would it be better to go dual exhaust (if dual i was looking at a catback borla set) or single (right now i have a 2 1/2'' pipe going straight back with one curve so its almost straight back and my muffler is a 4'' apexi.

3. Should i get my body kit first or lower my car first?

4. how much does it cost it cost for a performance chip typically cause i hate how mine is at a set top speed 105mph and i swear my car could have more torque than it does i feel restricted (i have a k&n intake, denso sparks, and my apexi muffler and thats all performance wise i have done to my vehicle) i almost happy with the power i have but i think the chip is the next thing i should change that is why im asking this.

5. is my engine fine as it is to slap on a Hahn racecraft turbo kit stage 1 or 2? http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Turbochargers/Forced-Induction/Performance/performance-parts_c-197.htm

1.Your chip is worthless, your car cannot be chipped!!
2.I would lower your car first,IMO
3.If boost is your future,then a hi-flo cat is a good idea

No on the chip, look into hptuners for tuning, you'll need it if your going to boost the car.Yes on rear disc brake conversion off the neons.

not unless you are or are going to have a high power car.

dual offers no performance gain over a single exhaust. its just for looks

which do you want first?

the closet thing we have to a chip is HPtuners software. and there is a reason why there is a 105 mph speed limit on J's. they cant handle high speeds. and power drops off well before you reach it anyway.

what they would charge you to do the neon swap would make it not worth it. if you want this done, its something you're going to have to do yourself. lets face it, if you have the money to PAY a shop to swap the brakes from a neon onto a cavalier, then you can afford something that will be faster stock than a mildly modded cav.

eh that depends on how much its gonna cost i really don't want to have to mess with the brakes heh i hate changing my brake pads (which i do myself cause shops over charge) im just lazy but the cars that im planing on buying for my 3rd car are in the 30k range and i don't have that kind of money right now for another car payment/ higher insurance so im just gonna keep doing things to my j one part at a time ya know

and to answer 99redz24 yes i plan on having a high powered car i want to be faster than a stock evo viii if possible but first i want to surpass that dang srt4 in power and our successor the colbalt ss 2.0 sc

Well if you live anywhere is snows a descent amount, I wouldn't recommended lowing your car unless you have a sub for winter

I will be the ONE - in my 2002 ES Sport Cavalier (5 spd)

i highly doubt anyone from ntb or midas has even heard of putting brakes from a neon on a cavalier. there's much more involved than just tossing on a caliper and rotor. you're probably looking at an over $1k job just for labor.

I only have 2 things I want to say...

1. You can only "chip" a j-body 95 and older... newer needs to be electronically tuned.. and I wouldn't worry about that until/if you boost

2. Unless you're building a drag car that is capable of speeds over 105 in the 1/4 mile, you don't need to raise the limiter. J's are only safe road wise for speeds up to 105/106/whatever... it is highly unsafe to go faster on a road without a ton of mods to make the car safer.

thats cool man thats what everyone is tellin me and trust me i will have boost and im not gonna go insanely fast w/o upgrading my suspension first which will be done in two weeks and my tires are good for higher speeds than my limiter but yeh i cant hit 105 in the 1/4 mile right now anyway
