i have a stock 96 sunfire gt, i looked up the vin on line and came out 2.4 dohc LD4. but on this site everything i find about the 96 2.4 says it is an LD9. so basicly my question is, Is there a difference between LD4 and LD9, and what does it stand for or tell me?

LD4 is a straight 6 cylinder engine, I doubt you have it. It was probably just misread, 4 and 9 look similar on a computer sometimes
ok thanks i think i found where i miss read the vin decoder it said 2.4L L4 not LD4
