Newbie here
I just bought a 92 cav. 4 cyl. auto for a father son project/ sons first car, here is my question, the old man said it wouldnt start because it was 36 below zero, neighbor sprayed a lot of starting fluid, now car is skipping, he was told by a mechanic that its most likely a bent valve, so he decided to sell it, it has 100k, starts right up but skips, engine lite is on, never played with a cav, but i have built a 11 sec buick grand national, so i have the ability, just dont want to rip the head off for nothing, no water / oil mix, will start with fresh plugs this week , no hurry we have 6 mos b4 he turns 16, still learning this site, but i post on turbobuick so i will get the hang of this..............Thanx ....Tom

Yeah........ I can see why, a cav is so much more difficult.

Ok, i see why you are driving a car that cost as much as i spend on gas, the turbobuick website and members are much more respectful than this site, ill be removing my name from this bull@!#$ forum, like i told my son ,"this is a welfare car", thanx for backing this up

Says a lot from someone that would actually admit being a chrysler mechanic, working on mopars and driving a cavalier, you must make what 10$ an hour, you say alot for this forum, hope this is not a general sample of the members here, i spend more on gas in my snowmobile than you made last year.

Hey,Hey! Don't put us all down because of one persons comments, cavs are not "welfare" cars, they are econo-boxes lol.If you bothered to check out the times in the racing forum,Adam Hahns lil' ol' 2.2 runs 11's.How does that make you feel?Good luck and some on this site are very knowledgeable about j-bodies.

thats nice buddy. with you being older, most people would of thought you would be more mature than this. are you teaching your son to be an ass?
and how do you know how much he makes??? nice ASSumption there too

mopar, GM, ford, honda, etc etc. who cares what kind of cars he works on? at least he has a job unlike some people in this country.

since when does how much on person makes an hour have anything to do with what car they drive?

and you say this 3 times why????

since you have the "ability" rip the head off anyway. teach your son something useful instead of being an ass

actually, he drives an Eagle Talon TSi. does that give him a $0.50 raise?

seems like you're pretty wasteful if you're spending that much money on gasoline a year.

in all seriousness though... why not rip the head off, it's easy as hell on these cars. maybe do a little father/son project and assist him with tearing apart the engine and figuring out what's wrong with it. it'll be a great learning experience for him.

as for the "attitude" around here, take most replies with a grain of salt and quit being so pissy. i hate seeing cops with such a short fuse.
