what up j body im new to this forum. I drive a n body vehicle. Olds GX Alero. I wanted to ask considering that cavaliers are smaller they weigh less. So with that said if a cav and alero raced with the same 2.4 engine, tranny, mods and everything the same except body mass, a cav would win right cause its smaller? I dont know just a something i was thinking about

you gota weigh in the drivers Exp. car weight as well if a talented driver was in the alero and a newb behind the cavy the alero would win but in most cases that cavy would b/c of the weight diffrence the cav im guessing would weigh a couple hunderd less than the alero at least mine dose compared to my buddies ga se/gt with a 2.4

Acually I only changed the rotors once, as for overall quality I hadnt had problems. My engine works great and feels even better on acceleration with the cold air intake. I love my alero and cant wait to install the HO 2.3 stuff on it. The only downside I see to my alero is its a inline 4 with a big body, compared to as the cavy's small body with the same engine. With a big body like the alero well not big but you know what i mean, the V6 3400 would be better pushing it. But iam not looking to swap cause I badly want those HO 2.3 parts on my 2.4.

The 3400 is a bigger motor and I'm pretty sure that it weighs more than the 2.4. The V6's pull the car better but they do add more weight.

I used to have a grand am with the 3.4 (which is the same platform as the alero). GM only offered the 3.4 with a auto, which was really really slopy. The Level 10 (i believe thats the company) torque converter alone would cut .5 off your 1/4 mile time. A 2.4 manual with simply bolt ons can beat a stock one. I have been beat by a lot of 2.4 cavis and sunfires when it was stock.

I want 2 install a 5 speed tranny in my alero but first i want the secret cams, HO intake manifold, etc. Basically mod the engine first cause i want SPEED. and i love it when i burn litle hondas on the streets.
